Default KJ coming to SE Qld 14-19 August

Just booked some flights to the Goldy/Brisbane for Wed 14/8 (fly into Goldy around 10:30am) - Mon 19/8 (fly out of Brisbane around 4pm).

I'll have a hire car so keen to get out a bit...Kooralbyn is definitely on the books, but keen to catch up with whoever's free for a round or 2.

Plus on the non-golf front, I'm planning to do a Parkrun on the Sat and watch Broncos/Panthers on Fri night.

    Probable schedule:

Wed early PM: GC (Boomerang Farm around 2:30, Emerald Lakes when the lights go on)
Thur: Kooralbyn (time depends on where I stay the night before, but I'd say early-mid morning)
    Fri: Royal Qld / Ferrins
Sat: Wherever I can get on either as a visitor or a guest (mid morning)
    Sun: Sunshine Coast
    Mon: Pac Harbour?

If the body agrees (it bloody better by then), I could do some golf. No running by then though.

You should play Kooralbyn Thursday. That’s the back marker.

Better still you can go to the local pub afterwards, watch a man drink with a macaw parrot on his shoulder (who bites anyone who tries to touch him) and a drunken lass with a pool cue in tow

I can join you for a game wherever BNE/GC/KV on the Friday. SC is a bit to far for me. If I cant organise a game would love to catch up with you anyway.

I am a member at Toowoomba City, but not keen to travel out there for that weekend as i have away trips the weekend before and after already. If you really wanted to play there on Sunday I can line you up with my old mate (in the Comp)

I'm thinking Bris area on Friday, so more than happy to sort something out for then. But either way, definitely keen to catch up!

I probably won't have a hit at Toowoomba...had thought of just heading there to check the town out after Kooralbyn but didn't realise how long it'd take to get there...so probably won't worry about that.

Been caught up with other stuff, and only just got back home from a work trip to Adelaide, so I need to get some of this sorted. I've found a decent looking Airbnb not too far from Kooralbyn, so I should be all set for that on Thursday.

Chris, how much for RQ? I'm happy to play somewhere a little less ritzy, but if it's not too steep (and not too late) I'd love to give it a crack.

So Friday @ RQ is a lock.

I'm particularly keen on locking in something for Sat around 9-9:30am...will ring around tomorrow/Wed and see what is available for visitors. And Sun I'm arranging to head to Sunny Coast, play somewhere there (maybe Maroochy River), stay somewhere up there overnight, then come back to Bris via either Bribie Island or Pac Harbour.

I played Bribie about 10 days ago, it's in pretty good nick, and well worth a visit.

Thanks for the recommendation, Benno...it seems they have a Sun comp, so might give them a call and see if I can get in on that.

Where you looking to play, Brisbane I guess? I need a game on Saturday too,

but if you are looking at members courses, you can get on most around here about 12.00pm in the Sat comp, if ring up that morning.

Yep, Bris metro. I've got a few in mind so will ring around on Sat morning and see how I fare.

I don't know how many open up their Saturday timesheets. I know Wolston Park does regularly, but I don't know about elsewhere. If you find somewhere, let me know.

That's nice to know, although it might be hard to find a slot at some clubs. I've rarely seen an open spot on Gailes timesheet for a Saturday.

I saw something on Carbrook's site that visitors can ring them after 3pm Friday and possibly get a time. I'll at least try there, but have Virginia/Pacific in mind too.

The fact that the Lions are going so well and have a Sat arvo game at home against Geelong might help me a little as well...

Carbrook has foursomes champs on Saturday but there is a single stab from 1130-1 with 2 spare spots at the moment.

I’ll be at the footy in the arvo.

KJ I'm also a member at Virginia GC so you can play with me on Saturday for a member guest rate of $25 instead of $39.
