    Default Loxton Amateur Open 2019

It looks like there is some interest amongst a few of us for this event. See the link below. It runs from the 26th to 28th of July but the main comp is 36 holes at Loxton Golf Club. All you need is a handicap. Entry fee is $55 for the 36 holes. Options for Pinehurst also available. http://www.loxtongolf.com.au/

All entries need to be made by the 12th of July direct to the club. Any takers?

    Not long to go.
Hopefully no precipitation from the sky this weekend or Friday for that matter.

really looking forward to this, going to give the car a good vacuum and wash tomorrow. There is still the smell of carpet shampoo in the back but other than that she will be ready to roll

    Thoroughly enjoyable!

Waikerie was is reasonable condition, the fairways were dormant but played fine. The greens were a tad soft and probably due for a core in the coming month or so. There was also some severe damage from Cockatoos ripping the roots up out of the greens. I would probably start that coring process in late August

#10 is clearly the standout hole + I enjoyed all the Par 3's. The accommodation setup looks really impressive however vacant rooms 'aint gonna pay the bills'

Loxton played great as it always does for the Open. Good to see less Cocky damage on the greens this year compared to two years ago. My pick of the holes is #16, a really good Par #4. The #6 is also a superb Par 5 and has a deceptive small green. My only criticism would be a handful of significant trees that need removing. #17 is a clear example of this and by far the worst hole on the course.

None of us really got going so the scores were pretty average. All in all a great trip away in very good company, probably a trip I would like to do every couple of years.

I'll second the thoroughly enjoyable weekend!
Thanks to TC for the lift and the use of the accom from Marcel.
Golf wise extremely frustrating for myself driving it the worst I have for a very long time. Man did I go wide on some holes.
I had enough pars to make an ok score but the poor was really poor with doubles, triples and even a couple quads that blew it right out the water.
I do need to find myself a much better pair of Golf shoes as my feet started burning 1/2 way through the round each day and by the and of they day they were in agony.
