Well, after months of rubbish, and nursing a crook shoulder, golf felt easy. I think the hip flask that Jerry Springer brought along assisted in the relation.

Single par event, and was 3 up after 7. Two missed fairways ended up with the ball dead behind trees and subsequent wipes due to an appalling short game, but then had 3 pluses in a row to get back to 4 up after 12.

Two unfortunate misses on the last two and I ended up 2 up with a wedge stuck in a tree. Good times.

Wedge has now returned to my bag, handicap has come down .5 but still appalling. I still have the yips with chipping with 4 of my 5 minuses involved flubbed chips.

A solid 4 over today with 2 doubles and a 3 putt bogey. Hcp down to 5.5 which is the lowest it's been in almost 4 years. No flags coming off in next 4 rounds so a real opportunity to go lower.

What's goin on chop? You almost sound worse than me.

I agreed to be Captain for the Masters Pennant but can't even make my own team, shot 2 over the back nine last week 7 greens and couldn't chip it on from 2 metres on the other two so feeling for your short game.

What's wrong with us, that after many years chipping is so difficult?

41 points on Saturday at Penrith, off 9.
Even par front , 4 over on the back . This halted an ugly slide in the h/c

A fairly uneventful 33 points for me today. I never quite hit the ball right in the middle all day, but my short game was good, and I saved bogey a number of times. I made a swing adjustment, started hitting driver and hybrids better, then my first iron shot went at 45 degrees. I've already posted in the appropriate thread.

    20 points at Pacific Dunes.

A punishing course does not mix with poor ballstriking.

I know the feeling. 30pts at Half Moon Bay today. Seemed I was either scoring a 3 pointer or a wipe. Add in a lovely shank on the 13th hole and my day was done.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
