Meh. I'd probably prefer Social Golf Australia for the handicap now. Gailes charge you more for the green fee, than with another handicap, although they may do that with SGA too. It was $53 for the Saturday Comp, and I haven't bothered going back for a Sunday comp.

    Is your return imminent?

Have you had any backlash at Open comps using the SGA handicap?

Yes, we're moving back to Vegas in December.

Transferring back with work. Townsville's a nice place, we've enjoyed our time here.

I didn't play very much while I had it for those two or three years, so it wasn't tested very well, but I didn't get knocked back in that time. Most rounds were OZgolf Champs rounds though.

Howlong GC and Corowa GC in NSW both offer remote membership for under $100.

Note that many clubs in Sydney charge a green fee plus a visitors comp fee for anyone who is a member of a virtual/online club such as SGA, Qantas etc

Is there a way to find your last hcp if you are now invalid?
Once you go yellow, you will never go back

The Handy Cap app still shows them I think (if you have the GolfLink number). Otherwise you can email GolfLink (or maybe it’s Golf Australia now) with your name and the last club you were at & they should be able to look it up.

I signed up to SGA for a golflink number. Fingers crossed I get something back from them.

My old golflink lapsed less than a year ago, so it should be pretty straightforward you would think.....

Yes, it should be easy. I expect that you will get an email from them soon.

What’s the process if you join SGA but don’t have a handicap? Who do you send cards in to, to be handicapped?

I am guessing you will need to play in a SGA social club.

Or. Their website will probably answer that.

You give (send) your signed cards to SGA, like you would for any club.

So all of us who are worse than scratch will have our G.A handicaps blow out and + markers will have their G.A handicaps go even lower. Max handicap for men will go out to 54! Gee that'd be a fun round.

54 is the max, clubs still free to set daily limits

Slightly but your daily will likely be much closer to your GA so it won’t really matter
