There is definitely such a thing as golf fitness, as I was struggling after my game on Wednesday.

I'll probably struggle again over the weekend after backing up today, perhaps mentally as well as physically, because I threw away a good score by getting on the bogey train late in my round.

After being under handicap all day, my short game let me down late, so I finished with 34 points, instead of something better.

It has been nice to get out on the course again, though.

First round of the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games golf event being played at my home course of Half Moon Bay. 36 points but could have been so much better. A couple of three putts on the back nine and two one pointers to finish were a bit of a let down. Still happy overall with how I played.

    14/19-33.

Started on 10, pulled the first tee shot straight OB for a crowd pleasing triple (wipe). Fought back from there but disappointing bogey up the last. Brookvale Union Ginger beer made it all with it.

Happy to have my old 1970's era Ping Anser back in the bag

Very disappointing 29 yesterday, my driver really let me down. Went out 10 came back in with 19 after putting driver away and pulling out the 2 iron.

39 points in the second round of the Great Barrier Reef Masters Games. Good enough to get first place in the 30 to 49 age group B Grade division. Also managed to pick up a NTP.

    had a game on Saturday;
Just can't get into the swing of it; and going short with all my putts; Short game was a let down so can be seen in my score.
With 10 holes only scoring 1 points, just managed to squeak through with 23 points...

    Copycat.

But the hard way ... 15 after 11, then 19 points for the last 7.

A strange 34 points for me today.

The first nine was rocks and diamonds, starting with a miracle chip-in birdie, then two other putts over 10 feet, but I also missed 3 from under 4 feet. The other nine was as dull as dishwater on paper, with 9 two-pointers. Easy to score and add up, but two-pointers don't win holes in a fourball match, unfortunately.

So you didn’t shoot as well as Tim Hart, 59 64??? Absolutely insane scores. He shot 63 in Mackay last week too.

That bloke is crazy long. I was in the group behind him yesterday and watching some of the places he was hitting his second shots from was ridiculous.

I played the Navy Social GC round today at Half Moon Bay GC. Started by doubling the first 2 holes (both short 4s ) for wipes. I turned it on after that with 2 birdies, 1 bogey and the rest pars to finish with 73 (38pts).

A fairly unexciting 33 points for me today.

I didn't quite have anything working efficiently, so it was always a struggle. It was also one of those rounds where I also seemed to get more than my share of poor lies on the fairways.

There was more excitement from one of my playing partners, though. He started wipe, wipe, then 3 a five. He later had a 4 pointer. Nine points in two holes, and he finished with 25 points. Pretty hard to do.
