Default Taylormade Original One mini driver

Im so hanging for this as I cant find a 400cc + driver that works consistently. Anyone have their previous offerings and what did you think? Callaway even?

I love the TM mini driver from a few years back. I have struggled with new drivers for a while and have come to the conclusion that it’s the upright lie angle they come in now. I’ve gone back to the R510tp as my driver and I’m driving better than I have for years.

The way the mini driver sits just suits my eye and it’s my most consistent club. I use it primarily as a strong fairway wood, but also use it off the tee.

I've put my SLDR mini driver back in the bag recently to replace my fairway wood, just find it a lot more consistent hitting the fairways.

It comes down to physics. The aerodynamic drag on a fairway wood is less per kilo than a larger head (in this case a driver head) due to the fact that the fairway head is shorter in length in comparison to a driver head. This would possibly mean faster clubhead speed and greater drag efficiency

No idea why you would be hitting the Mini off the deck on a tee box. A fair tee comparison would have seen both off a peg. The Mini is going to be better off the tee and not as good/easy off the deck for just about everyone. For a Mini it sure looks the goods. The 10.5* SLDR Mini might be in danger.

Driver off deck on a tee box is good enough for Oliver Wilson

I have the original SLDR mini and it’s a great club, I use it off the tee on some short par 4s at my course.

I can use it off the deck with a decent lie.

I also have the Callaway Mini but prefer the SLDR.

    Mine has a nice feel.

I had a retail club which I sold to an OZgolfer, the one I have now is a Tour Issue head with the long hosel that's .335 not .350 like the retail head.

Maybe that has something to do with it.

I had the SLDR Mini 12* with stock Tour Stiff shaft, acquired from the good man PT73 from memory. Really enjoyed using it for a while - it was in the bag in place of a 3W. I could’ve easily taken driver out of my bag altogether and had the SLDR Mini be my driver. It was that good. But I moved away from mini-drivers a good while ago. Think after moving on from the Mini I went 2016 M1, Ping G, 2017 M1, G400 Max Between my G400 Max 9* and 917F2 15*, both of which I find to be amazing, I really have no need for a Mini driver. Played with a 10-capper last weekend who had that Callaway 1.5 13* Mini from a few years ago in the bag and he certainly hit it better than his Srixon Z 785 driver. Each to their own I guess.

I used the 12* sldr mini as a fairway wood, more often from the fairway than off the tee. Had no trouble ripping it off the deck but the lie had to be somewhat decent. Face was nice & soft, unlike the driver. I haven’t used it in quite awhile (using a M3/HD7) but would never sell it & sure it will make it’s way into the bag again someday

One of my pennant teammates tried one this weekend and ordered one after the round. Was raving about it.

First impressions of this club are good. Club looks like it sits closed and kept standard 11.5 loft with standard club length on the original graf blue x that was mated to this head.

Hit 10 shots and most went straight. Had a few that went left and small hooks when I went for it.

I think this club will perform with just a firm yet easy swing.

Will try another Graf blue but the newer version and tip it an inch or so and see how that goes, but overall an effortless club to hit
