Anzac Day stableford comp this morning.

We (a four) played through a group of 3 and a group of 2 to finish in 3:40.

I was cruising at 2 over through 14, but butchered 15 & 16 (both doubles) to finish with 78 for 34pts.

    Welcome to my world.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

First round off 10 since April 2016.... Oh my. Started with a birdie for 3/4, chopped it a bit, made a couple of 5-10 footers for 19 around the front.

Got to 3 under cap before a 3 jag on 13, following by yanking one OOB on 14.

19/17 for 36 - my first 36 point round or better at GL since early January.

I then proceeded to have a few schooies with old mates at the club and took $120 more home than I started with after 2Up. Good day.

Played Port Kembla with Jono on Sunday.

Hit the ball pretty well off the tee most of the day, but missed a few greens with the short irons. Also didn't putt great, but did manage to birdie the 9th (our last hole), for 32points.

    Played on Wednesday at Cabra.

After birding no.1 last time I played it, knocked it to a foot and birdied it again. Parred 2 and bogeyed 3 after trying to fade a 5iron into the green pulling it way left and them hitting an average chip.
Smoked a drive down 4 and hit 8iron to about 15feet then holed putt for my first birdie on 4 (index 1) for about 3 years. Also birdied 5 to be -2 with card. Finished the front nine -1 after bogeying 8.

As a group we were hot with 8 birdies between us. My playing partner and I had 3 birdies each and the other 2 guys had one each.

After Bogeying 10 and 12, I birdied 13 to get back to even par and then parred 14 to remain even with card. Smoked another drive up right centre of 15, but when we got up to where we thought my ball would be, it just vanished so I wiped the hole.

Bounced back with a Birdie on 16 but bogeyed 17 and 18 to be +3 over the card.

My playing partner and I did manage to win the 2BB with 49 points. We had 10 birdies between us.

    Stats
    38 Points
    5 x Birdies
    10 GIR
    30 putts
    0 x 3 putts

Played with Courty in the Navy Social Golf Club day today at Mirage.

After a big few days (and lots of golf) I started with 4 points through the first 5 holes. Went 1 under for the rest of the front 9 for 15 points. Solid around the back, even though I bogied the par 5's, for 18 points.

Sorry to read that you couldn't keep the 12 pars or better streak going, Bushy.

    Maryborough twice this week.

Wednesday Stableford 13/19 - 32. played 6/7/8/9 pretty poorly which killed the round. No birdies as usual.

Saturday Stableford - 17/19 - 36. Played pretty well with nothing worse than a birdy on the card. Course was super sloppy from all the rain, so no run. Had real problems chipping / pitching it close, but snagged a nice bird on 15 with a 30ft putt.

Played at Medway in Melbourne today, had 37 points (16/21). Pretty happy with how i hit the ball for the most part, irons were quite strong.

Highlight of the day would have to be the 9th. 251m par 4 all uphill to a flag you can only see the top of from the tee box. Took driver as there was a little bit of wind into us, gave it a good smooth swing and hit it well. Walked up to the green and i had a foot and a half left for eagle. Followed that at the par 3 and put it to 54cm and won NTP.
