Jack, listened to a podcast the other day, was probably Mac talking (I might be wrong). Indicated that the best par 5s are probably good short par 4s, that is, not a massive amount of pressure on the drive but getting yourself in a position to either have a ping at the green (with the associated risk) or options to lay up.
Worst Par 5s are simply bunt, bunt, wedge...…..my course. Is that Ellerston?

True par 5’s that require a reasonable tee shot so the the second shot can clear a ‘great hazard’ (ie Hell bunker at The old course) are great holes too!
