If you owned a jet and a helicopter it wasn’t too hard a trip . It is about two hours from Scone by car tho

I have never even considered or noticed that, but now you got me thinking, and you might be on to something.
I have played Riverside (Indonesia) many times and there is many fantastic holes there, but all 4 par 5s are underwhelming.

Criticism doesn't bother me, as it means I am doing something and people are watching.

The course itself is good, but underwhelming. The par 5's especially are poor and destroy the myth that Norman and Harrison are great par 5 builders. The rest of the course is quite disjointed in places, unwalkable in others, and too difficult for players over say a 10 handicap. I was expecting it to be better than it was. The conditioning was impressive, but then again, they get to pick and choose when visitors see the course, so that has to be taken into consideration as well when forming an overall view of where the course should be on the lists.
Jack, listened to a podcast the other day, was probably Mac talking (I might be wrong). Indicated that the best par 5s are probably good short par 4s, that is, not a massive amount of pressure on the drive but getting yourself in a position to either have a ping at the green (with the associated risk) or options to lay up.
Worst Par 5s are simply bunt, bunt, wedge...…..my course. Is that Ellerston?
You agree with the short par 4 theory?

I have done the return trip to Melbourne with Monsta half a dozen times.
That sounds like luxury.

Being from Canberra you'd think you'd know how to identify a junket.

True par 5’s that require a reasonable tee shot so the the second shot can clear a ‘great hazard’ (ie Hell bunker at The old course) are great holes too!
