As a newly elected member of the West Gippsland Golf committee I would invite you to hold the prestigious Vic Champs 2021 in our district.

Do you have a course in the top 20 or 30 that would encourage people to travel thousands of kilometres?

They dont hold any of that status, but I can say that Leongatha,Lang Lang and Cranbourne offer quality golf.Havent played Warrigal. Then you need to get further down towards Bairnsdale,or look at Pakenham. All good tracks

I haven’t played it for years but Trafalgar was the best course in the area.

It's both, but I can play half decent country tracks with great friends an hour or two away.Warrnambool and Port Fairy had the magic we all wanted.I wouldn't cross the road to play Portland again.

Neither were top 20 courses , knee high rough just off the fairway might get you ranked higher but is cruel for the average golfer . Settlers is ranked now but back then they were struggling to get members and was unplayable in winter.

They have same sand base as sand belt courses but unfortunately isn’t in Melbourne. Played in their pro am a few years ago best score was only 2 under , probably only ranks as a decent country track

Same year we play Commonwealth. Friday (UCW Day) is usually the premo course day. I never had a problem with either Waterford Valley or Settlers Run both were enjoyable and to my liking.
