It's not cos he is Mexican, it's more the case a regular caddie would be putting in work with the player week in and week out. The local caddie might not even be giving him yardages. I remember Sergio winning on the Asian Tour with a local caddie and I'm sure all the caddie did was carry his bag.
I’m 100% behind Kuch on this.
The caddie agreed to the arrangement and if he thought it wasn’t enough, he should have turned down the job at the start.
A resort caddie who is not overly proficient in English is supposed to negotiate all the contract nuances with a 20 year tour pro...…...ok
How about he agrees to a wage for his services (via the resort manager) and trusts the multi millionaire player to do the right thing in the event they have a top 10/20 or in the unlikely event they have a win.
Kuchar can do whatever he wants with his money, even to the point of giving El Tucan cash post the event, but I can also call him a tight git.

That is the whole point here. It is unclear if a percentage for a win was discussed.
If it was and an unspecified % was agreed then .2% seems very low imo. If 10% is normal for long term caddy then somewhere closer to 5% seems ok. Especially when you are worth 50 mill.
Cam Percy just paid a ring in caddy almost $3K for winning $25K last week.
It is an unwritten law on tour that you pay your caddy appropriately. All the players know what a fair amount is and $5K is not it.
He has lost a lot of respect with a lot of people for this.

I've still yet to see any comment on whether the caddy was any good. It is entirely possible Kuch overcame his poor performance, and paid him accordingly.
I would have expected Kuch to try and keep up the nice guy image.
His immediate response was surprising considering his image.
Was the Andrew Coltart “incident” an early indicator of the real Kuch?
