Default Uncivil War VII - Royal Hobart Golf Club, Friday 22nd Feb 2019

The battle lines have FINALLY been drawn, and these two titans of the golfing world are warming up for our very own version of "The Battle of the Bastards (with extra Bastards)".

A massive thank you to Courty and wbennett for assisiting with filling the sides, and also to PeteThePilot for recruiting a couple of RH members to fill the void.

Captaining the Confederate side this year will be 3PuttPete, joined by his willing and able VC, thecollective.

And returning fire for the Union will be Peter_rs, assisted or hampered by (depending on your point of view) Ferrins!

Final pairings for this ding-dong all important stoush, are:

    Fri Draw.JPG

Your team captains will establish pants / short colours shortly, and more information about the greatest day in the OZgolf calendar will be posted as further details emerge.

    PLAY BALL!!!

He may have seen action in the Uncivil War but there's very little chance he remembers any of it. This lack of knowledge can continue as he takes on a man of great mystery. The only thing you know for sure is he pronounces the 8th letter of the alphabet correctly. It's Matty Aitch

Speaking of blokes who have no idea what's going on. It's dark red you pretentious fool. To teach you a lesson on the colour chart, in particular around the greens is Collis.

    Bushy v Matty Aitch
    Ron Burgundy v Collis

Next up we have a man who worked himself into tip-top fighting shape and form then put on a taper which would make Michael Phelps' sloth baby proud. He's been laying in wait for this for a long time. Welcome to the war Tractor Boy.

Teaming up with the agricultural machine is a man who has nothing. Really. No last name and no handicap. Playing off scratch is Matt!

It’s an honour to be joined on my right hand side carrying the title of VC into this battle is a man whose name says it all. He isn’t in it for personal glory, he’s doing it for the team. He is not the individual. He is thecollective.

And now it’s time. Some say I was born to this role. I’ve heard it most of my life. Not to my face mind you, people are often reluctant to heap too much praise on a man but I hear them whispering when I walk by or when they think I’m not around.

That’s where he belongs they say. It’s his natural position. Behind a bunch of tired, sweaty men who are probably at least in some way affected by alcohol, driving as hard as he can. Well, if the cap fits...

That’s right. Look at me. I am the captain now.

When ppl get competitive with me on the golf course I ask if we can move it to the tennis court

But in your instance I certainly won't be going down that path!!

Hooters tour? You spelled winner of the greatest single day event on the Ozgolf calendar wrong. Except for this of course.

You certainly don't want to mess with me on a damp grass court.

I thought grass courts only existed in the 70's and 80s - everyone plays on such slick surfaces they had to slow the balls down to make the games last longer.

Pretty nice down there at the Domain for a knock and the aquatic centre nearby draws in the yummy hairy mummy's.
Harry Hopman always suggested a dip after a workout on the tennis court. Works for Nick in a different way.

You reckon the Captains could post the pairings in a single post?

Going to be an awesome day. I know Ron loves a good time, have heard Matty Aitch is partial to a good time.

Collis, I hope you’re prepared my friend.
