All of that stuff is so last week.

I was hoping to write about and cheer for Jake McLeod. He was on the leaderboard, but he has faded away. The fireman is getting some TV time, but I'm not sure why. He isn't playing very well, after a good second round.

But the interesting performance is from Min Woo Lee. A 63 today puts him on the leaderboard. Another good round tomorrow, and it will be a dream start to his pro career.

Fortunately for the organisers, DJ is justifying his appearance money, and looking like the DJ of old. Justin Rose and Brooks Koepka are nowhere to be seen, but I bet they won't hand their appearance money back.

I'm guessing Mike Clayton would hate this course (but I won't bother asking him in his thread). Target golf at its most target.

They did say on the Commentary that they were following Hend and Levy because they were considered two of the most aggressive players on the Leaderboard.

Good of them to ‘grow the game’ by taking it to Saudi Arabia. Where’s next, North Korea?
Cinderella story, out of nowhere, former greenskeeper, now about to become a Masters champion..... It looks like a mirac.. It's in the hole! It's in the hole!

You may want to rethink writing anything less than complimentary to the Saudis. I’ve heard that doesn’t end well.

Grow the game requires money and the Euro tour obviously place a big value on expanding to different countries too.

However getting all wound up about Saudi Arabia when the UAE, US, South Africa, Turkey, Russia and China all hold golf tournaments is a bit much.

European Tour hits Victoria this week with the Vic Open for Men and Women, following in the footsteps of the 2018 Vic Champs.

For the men its a Aus and Euro Tour event, for the ladies is LPGA and ALPG.

The Beach course is renumbered - 10 is the 1st, the 4th is the 10th, and holes 15 to 18 in the Open are 1 - 4, so the event finishes in front of the clubhouse.

Anyone heading down to this at all? Was thinking of going down tomorrow for a look. It is televised on Fox Sports though, so could also watch from home.

For the Foxtel golf fans wondering which channel the golf is on, it is on the ABC (technically channel 102 on Foxtel, I guess).

I daresay the organisers would be a bit disappointed at the fields. Despite being co-sanctioned with the Euro, the mens field is short on star power. Beef is probably the only real drawcard. Despite being in the top 100, most would struggle to recognise Jorge Campillo or Adrian Otegui, and they aren't on the leaderboard anyway. The scoring is amazing though, full of blast from the past Aussies.

The womens field is better, but there are no Koreans or Thai star players.

I'm looking forward to accounts from Vic Champs players detailing how they made birdie from a position where the pro messes one up.

I don't really have much idea how James Nitties and Nick Flanagan get by from year to year. I guess it demonstrates how good they are and how good the competition is in the US.
