I recommend that no one else adds this course to their list, unless you're taking your beginner kiddy or having a pissup game with mates. It's just too rough for a serious golfer, particularly the "fairways".
Pics
Good Greens and Good Tee blocks are all you really need. Fairways are just there as a guide.
Although one of those pics it looks like the Tee block might fall short of "good"
Still looks better than Highercombe

It probably seemed worse because it was inconsistent; patches of grass mixed with bare patches of dust.

Andy I think this is one of the fairways you took a photo of, its obviously seen better days.

Sembawang GC:
Tight, hilly course tucked on some otherwise unusable land in northern part of Singapore - specifically made for defence personal at the nearby Sembawang Airbase. Typical Asian affair, grand clubhouse with all the fruit, but a pretty mundane layout. Lots of forced layups, large elevation changes, but not a bad day out. Condition was good, greens rolled well and very affected by grain. Glad I played it but not worth the $120 I paid. Having said that, probably some of the cheaper golf in the country.
Horizon Hills:
We crossed the border into Malaysia to play here - have played it before when I worked over there. Pretty standard resort course (would fit in well in SE Qld). Lots of doglegs, but enough width to have a lash on most holes. Lots of bunkers, reminds me a little of SC Palms but with more sensible greens. Conditioning was very good, and greens were fast. Elevation changes and plenty of water are the name of the game here. No real stand out holes, just everything pretty solid. $75 for the round inc caddies is about spot on for this track.
Overall, still not sure Singapore / JB / Batam really rates as a golfing destination if you are looking for a stand out golfing experience. I think it's the kind of place you go to for some other reason, and fit in a bit of golf if you can / want. Having said that, we did visit some other courses on business, and Sentosa looked good, but a super pricey proposition.

Thanks. I'm yet to play an international course, but I'm going to try and do it on my next Austrian work trip. I've got a course in mind, but can't see how I can get there without a vet expensive hire car or finding an Austrian to take me.

I forgot to update mine, and just like that I have passed the one course per month goal.
I was quite impressed with some of the greens at Wolston Park, as I had remembered them as being worse. However, there were a few that were a bit dodgy. There have been a couple of changes to the course too. The first now has bunkers on the left of the fairway, which isn't where I would have put them. There are also bunkers on the right to catch the second shot on the par 5 fourth, which are actually in a nasty position.
McLeod was certainly in better condition than when I last played there many years ago. While the fairways were dry, the greens were good, and there was actually sand in the bunkers. The fence to direct the tee shot and protect the properties on the fourth is shit though; if you can't hit a draw, you're stuffed. I rushed off at the end of the round, but I should have at least made the effort to look at my name on the honour board.
Next up is Gailes.
