I’m guessing he dropped near point of entry?

He is not allowed to drop ‘near point of entry’ assuming it is a penalty area!

I think there must have been have been a drop zone. So tee shot in the water (although that pic doesn’t look like water), then 3rd shot from the drop zone.

The event yeah... But the course just goes back to the days of 'whoever hits it straightest wins' which is mindlessly boring.

The comparison to what Bethpage used to be like pre-USGA di*K measuring shows how far the course has changed. Fairway acreage has reduced from around 50a to 18a.

A lot of the lost fairway in those pictures is short. That doesn’t make a difference to anything.

It's not the U.S open so the rough won't be that bad.

It's only the first 4 holes but look at the width that's been lost.

He'll need a trailer to carry his smokes, snacks and Diet Coke if his caddy/fiancee sits in the other seat.

Maybe he'll have his John Daly drink put into Diet Coke cans.

Despite the PGA moving spots in the schedule, I'm still struggling to get excited about it. I suspect it'll always be the fourth best major, no matter how much some pundits try to claim it has the best field of the year.

Nevertheless, it might be an opportunity to make some betting company money, particularly as the course is alleged to be playing soft, in addition to its length and narrow fairways. So it should be a case of trying to pick which bomber can hit straightest off the tee and with irons.

So I'm going for the biggest of the big boys this week. Rory, Brooks, DJ and I'll keep picking Tommy Fleetwood until he comes good.

It might be significant that Patrick won at the course last tournament that was held there, but I'm not picking him this time.
