Traffic was a mess and queues for the shuttle loooong.

I was staying with a buddy who lives there so we were on the residents shuttle which wasn't crowded.

He's a perennial top 30 player who had a really good week and won a major. I thought he might fade away under the pressure of a final round lead, but he didn't.

Will he now break through and win four of the next five? Probably not. He'll probably go back to being Gary Woodland the golfer. In contention every second time he plays, wins once a year and will always be on the edge of the Ryder Cup team. A bit like Webb Simpson or Keegan Bradley, I'd say, but I've been wrong before.

Perhaps more notable from this US Open and the other majors are the poor performances. Bryson seems to have gone backwards, Rickie wasted a good start, and Justin Rose and DJ still have the same number of majors as Gary Woodland. Phil might be finished as a threat in majors. Tiger has his own thread.

Apart from a few guys with injury excuses, about the only guy who can really hold his head up is Brooks Koepka.

I heard that Schaufelle missed a putt at some point during the second round I think and blamed it on Wallace throwing his ball to someone in the crowd. They got into it a bit and apparently refused to shake hands after the round. Sounds like pretty petty stuff all round but was just interested if there was any fallout for either player or if it was even an accurate account of what happened.

That's what I heard the post round show guys say too, maybe there was shouting from the crowd that put him off but it does sound very petty.

Good to see there were plenty of muppets shouting out Baba Booey, Get in the Hole but strangely not Mashed Potatoes.

Maybe the AFL were called into police crowd behaviour ............

I'm surprised none of the SJW have labelled "get in the hole" as sexist yet!

I assume Matt Wallace was the tool in this situation.

Jazz, he seems to have soared into the tool rankings quickly, Bubba/Phil still leading by a margin, Kuchar a surprise podium guy, is Rory Sab the greatest ever Slovakian in danger of falling out of the top 5?

This is why I hope Schaufelle disappears and never returns.

I agree with you there. Wallace seems to be a tosser as well so let's hope they are paired together more often!

If they both qualify for next year's US Open there is a chance they could be. Apparently the powers that be at the USGA are not averse to pairing players together who may not necessarily like each other.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Schauffele is already there because of his finish this year and you'd expect Wallace to qualify if he doesn't break a nail so fingers crossed they get paired

Looks like the penalty has been rescinded. Wonder if they would have done it for a less "popular" player.

More punters with their hands on the ball or pfaffing around with their lies, the less I like it.

What if he said it was a rock but seeing he was so angry for missing the green he crushed it when he picked it up.
