Single stab at Cairns GC this morning. Conditions are still Preferred lies/ GUR bunkers, but there's been a massive improvement in the last few days.

I started really well, turning with 21pts (+1), but the wheels came off midway through the second nine and I limped home with 15pts for 36 total. Oh, what could have been

First game in a few weeks yesterday. Single stab, started with a regulation 2-putt par, then went wipe, wipe, wipe, wipe to be standing on the 6th tee with two points on the card. Proceeded to play the next 9 holes one over par, including a seven hole stretch of one-under off the stick. Finished bogey, bogey, wipe, double, for 32 points.

I also drank nine beers. Clearly that 3-6 beer range is my sweet spot. Because science.

Stableford at beaconhills this morning off 7 , out early to beat the heat . Shot a PB today , par 71 ots (35,36) 43 pts , 5 birdies. ( the good) . Three bogies one double ( 4 putt) ( the bad) . Birdie 17 th to go -1 , then hit my only bad drive for the day into the trees on the right , pussied the par putt ,left it six inches short . 29 putts for the day with the 4 putt and one other short putt missed . When I left I was 4 th overall all on 43 pts and 3 rd in a grade . So best I will do is a ball in the run down

Thnx , yeah been having a good nine or 14 holes but playing two holes like a real chopper, yesterday’s double on four was just careless stupidity , not chopping it up all the way down the fairway, it actually made me knuckle down , I played 5 thru 17 three under . Now my goal will be to repeat it and go under par .

First game of the new golfing year for me. I really hope that every other game I play is better than this one.

That target shouldn't be difficult to achieve. I only got 25 points today, despite actually hitting the ball quite well.

The greens had been lightly sanded, so were even slower than they have been. This meant any putt from outside 30 feet were an automatic 3 putt. I lost two golf balls, both on shot holes, for two wipes. Both times I refused to do a walk of shame just to try to salvage a point.

To ease all that pain I won a NTP. A massive $10 prize doesn't cover the comp fee, but I still enjoyed my only 3 pointer of the day.

Medal at Tanilba, shot 75 (+3). Had a shocking putting day and one of my best ever ball striking days.

Had 10 birdie putts within 10ft and holed only one of them, also had 1 x 4 putt and 1 x 3 putt. The greens were a bit bumpy, but still bloody frustrating.

Monthly Medal this morning. The course has dried out immensely in a few short days, so there were no preferred lies or GUR bunkers.

I had a pretty good round without being great. I felt like I putted well but hardly made anything. I had lots of birdie opportunities but only made one.

    74/68. 14 pars, 3 bogies, 1 birdie.

Monthly medal with Olinda , 78/71 , couple birdies, 28 putts with a 3 putt double bogey and another couple of missed short putts , so wasn’t putting for a lot of birdies, did knock one to 2 metres on the magpie hole and sunk the putt , never really felt I was in it today , did hit some good drives today tho . Is funny a year ago I would have been happy with a 78 now it seems very ordinary.

Beat Pete in our side bet matchplay.

Got to use the knee drop rule.

Stableford today at beaconhills, 17 pts front nine mainly thanks to my putting ,then wiped 10 (lost ball) and 11, pulled it back a bit to finish with 15 pts for a total of 32 pts . One birdie and no three putts the rest was crap

First under par comp game since my comeback, played at Newcastle today for 38 pts (-2). Missed 3 fairways and 2 greens, had 1 x 3 putt.

Think I might have finally sorted my Driver out 👍

Stableford at beaconhills today , off 6 , 39 pts (3 over) an eagle and two birdies, started with two bogeys then eagled 3 , finished with three bogeys on 16 17 18 , missed putts on 7 9 14 15 16 and 17 all in the 4 to 10 ft range , did get 10 and 11 in that range , three putted 18 . There was a 45 pt score in ,1 under off 8 , so I would have needed to sink all of them .
