Was the ball found close to where everyone was looking, or 50m away? Irish drop is cheats paradise.

This gets brought up a bit, but I don't see how it is any different to the "estimation" of where a ball crosses hazard lines etc.

It’s up to your marker to be vigilant. My marker is always tough. Same guys that were liberal before will be liberal now.

Close , was sitting down a bit in a sprinkler head , we were 10 mts away in the rough . I know everyone thinks people will cheat it but those people who would are probably cheating now , not saying every course should do it but I think ours should . Plus we don’t have many if any holes where you could hit 3 oob off the tee

More the idea of where the drop is taken I think Pete.

Glad to hear as that will give me something to wipe my nose on while you deliberate over a 2 footer.

You won't need to tend the flag so you can sneak off behind a tree and Nemo shouldn't hear you. 😁

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

It looks like Andrew Landry was going to drop from above the knee, but someone guided him to the correct height. It isn't as easy to do as it sounds. Most of the comments under are typically silly American Golf Fans, but a few were predicting the rule will be relaxed, rather than demanding a drop from exactly knee height. I think that would be better.

The only people who will like this rule are the rules nazi's who delight in detecting infractions that have no effect on the game itself.

Can someone print this post and take it to the Vic Champs. There should be an award of some type for the first incorrect dropper (probably Sundayhack or Nemo battling late night syndrome the next morning).

Jim I hope you don’t drive when you go overseas?
I’m not sure you could handle driving on the other side of the road!
If you are still having trouble dropping from knee height you should give the game away!

My second game under the new rules.

Our flagsticks acted as ball repellents. We left the flag in quite often, and nobody hit it, or holed a putt with the flag in.

I did get to remove some loose impediment leaves from a bunker, which was enjoyable, but didn't do me the slightest amount of good.
