Played on Monday, leaving the pin in was an advantage to speed up play.Didnt pull it out to many times as we made the call to only tale it out if someone asks.Ball resting on the pin and some part of the ball below the surface was good enough reason and our time spent on greens was significantly quicker

Doesn’t.
Had a few today where once we were all on it was pulled and laid on the ground after someone got close enough. Sometimes I reckon the shadow and the flapping flag could be a hindrance to some.
What happens if you forget to drop from knee height?

Any other back pain/sciatica sufferers hate the drop from the knees rule?

If it helps, I dropped once from the side and didn’t bend at the waist or knees. Hand was slightly level with the knee but the drop landed softly as intended.

Every old coont at just about every golf club still give each other 3ft gimmes in stroke rounds, so I doubt Grandpa Bill and Oldie McButtBreath are going to call each other out for an above-the-knee drop.

4. Have less shots

2. Ready golf
1. Walk faster

Interesting twitter rant from Steve head of Aussie Golf Digest.

Shows just how out of touch he and his playing partners are. It amazes me how precious some golfers really are in Australia, why can't we just get on with it and putt the ball regardless of what the pin is doing

Played yesterday and the pin out was a given, we played as quick as the 15 groups in front of us.
Our pins are quite solid as in zero give, I won't be putting with them in.

Played with a group yesterday the combined age of the 3 was 247 I enjoyed having a putt with the pin in while they fluffed around - certainly sped up the round as much as it could

I putted yesterday with the Pin in when I could, but more often than not there was another player's ball that needed to be marked before I could putt. We were first group out in the afternoon field (as a 3) and finished in under 4 hours. Would have been less than 3 & 1/2 hrs, but the back nine took 40 minutes longer as we ran into the back of the field.
