    Default Reconditioned irons

I picked up a set of old forged Titleist 775cb irons which had seen better days, so I decided to give them a new life. I cleaned and polished the soles which were badly scored, and sand blasted the faces and rear of the irons. I tried doing the paint fill but just ended in a mess so I have decided to leave the paintfill alone for now. I found the black waterbase paint would not cleanup and blead into the sandblast grain now in the metal, i might experiment with coating the surface with some acrylic auto paint and then fill the lettering. This would seal the surface and allow a clean up without penetrating the grain of the metal. Here are some pics showing the progress.DSCN1832.jpgDSCN1833.jpgDSCN1834.jpgDSCN1835.jpgDSCN1838.jpgDSCN1839.jpg

Nice work odm. I did this once to a set of 735cm. After I sand blasted the faces, they looked great for a short while, then they rusted up pretty severely , so maybe try and seal them somehow.

Fortunately the 775s are stainless steel, so rust won't be a problem. I was amazed the job my $28 Ozito sandblaster from Bunnings done.😁

You’re sweet then. I had a set of 755’s back in the day. Great sticks .

All finished, I found that thinning the fill paint made it a lot easier.DSCN1852.jpgDSCN1852.jpg
