Default 2019 Australian Open Vs 2019 Hero World Challenge

So Tiger’s Hero World Challenge event next year has just been scheduled for the same week as the 2019 Australian Open, even after the Open was moved back to entice all those higher ranked players coming for The Presidents Cup to play the Australian Open. So much for that happening now I guess. Bugger. Hopefully the three Aussies that didn’t play at The Lakes this year will be at The Australian next year, along with whichever of the top South African players make the Presidents Cup team. Ancer could be on the team too.

The US team will be battling jetlag from the big flight, it works as an advantage for the international team

Seeing the whole US team play in 2011 Aus Open at the Lakes was great. Shame it won't be happening again.

Exactly my feeling. Tiger might’ve teed it up at The Australian next year too.

Very disappointing. Shows the PGAtour have no interest in growing the game globally.

I money is on Jason Day playing the Hero. He also has no interest in coming back to Australia. The only reason he came back last year was he was paid to do so. Hence why Adam Scott didn’t play this year

Lets not put Day and Scotty in the same category.

Adam Scott has done plenty, Day despite sucking on the government teat delivers nowt and is the reason you need to "HECS" all of them.

What has Adam Scott done that Jason Day hasn't?

Agreed. I should have been clearer. Adam Scott has given back a lot to Australian Golf over his career. Jason Day has not. Day only comes back when he is paid to do so.

And it seems Scott only comes back when he’s paid more than anyone else to do so.

“it's no secret that Scott - a regular on Australian fairways every summer for two decades - felt let down after being asked to play second fiddle to Jason Day in the appearance money stakes last year.”

I so agree with this point; the same should apply to ANY AIS athlete; if you start earning the big bucks it's time to give the country some well deserved ROI
