    Default Shaft gurus (no homo)

    After some advice after trying a G400 Max yesterday. Currently have the Xtorsion S flex 60g shaft in it, however I had a horrible left shot with it (starts left and turns over even more left).

    I was using a 910D3 before this with Ahina S flex 72g and would consistantly hit a power fade, never one that turned over to the left.

    Im pretty sure I feel the Xtorsion flipping on the downswing, it seems to me it is too whippy, should I go for an X flex? I am also going to try the stock Alta shaft in S flex, hoping this is a bit stiffer.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    I had a Ping G that didn’t get along with my beloved Pro Force V2 xflex; I’d played that shaft in everything. I replaced it was an Ahina X and they got along perfectly.

    I believe it has the same face angle as the G400, just 15cc bigger (445 vs 460). The SF version is the Draw Biased one.

    This review is worth a read MT;

    There's probably a few things going on here. The shaft is counter balanced unlike your previous set up and lighter as well. If stock the length would be 45.75" as opposed to probably 45" for your Titty. Pretty big variables. The Ping tour 65 is a decent shaft and more conventionally weighted. Ping builds to 45.25" with these. There's been a couple go thru here cheap over the years. Plenty of conventional shafts around the right weight would change things up significantly tho. I took out the stocko and made it 45" and it still had plenty of head weight, almost too much. Great club btw.

    Thanks for the replies so far. I have no idea what counter balanced shafts are? But this seems to be the issue. I will see if I can have a hit with other shaft options and go from there, shortening the shaft length may be an option also..

    The max is a heavy head also I went stiffer shaft and playing at 44.5 now goes perfectly but long and softer shaft it was going left for me also.
    Just my 2 cents
