Default Australian Open at The Lakes

Anyone going? Don’t think they have any big names this year?

I have Thursday and Friday off so I was thinking of wandering over.

Kuchar and Snedeker are the only big names.

What about 4 times Robert Allenby?

(In his own mind) the star of the tournament

Love his short game. Keegan Bradley is a flusher as well.Have they posted the tee times anywhere? Can you buy tickets at the door?

I’m volunteering. I volunteered in 2012 at The Lakes when it blowed like a mo-fo on Sunday and Peter Senior won, and in 2013 at Royal Sydney when there was a two-shot swing on the 72nd hole and Rory leapfrogged Scotty to kickstart his winning ways as a Nike staffer.
Figured I’d volunteer again this year before the tournament returns to Victoria from 2019. Looking forward to it.

Not sure, but they probably won’t post tee times until after Monday qualifying tomorrow.

Sounds cheaper to just post the tickets to Bonnyrigg

I’ve got a free four-day pass (perks of volunteering) that an OzGolfer can have if anyone wants it. You’ll just have to swing by Liverpool in southwest Sydney to pick it up in the evening. Or possibly meet me at the front gate at The Lakes at 0630 tomorrow morning. Thanks Gents.

The Aus Open has been on a downward spiral since GA had a bust up with Kerry Packer in the 1970 - 1980s.

Unfortunately, wrong time of the year and low prize money isn't a drawcard for big overseas players.

Defending champ Cameron Davis just put two in the drink on the first as well.
