That was very funny, Dickwella must have been watching Pant's gibber in the India series.

Awesome result - nightmare material for the Saffie fans, but great to watch for pretty much the rest of the world.

The Stars need 53 from 43 balls with 10 wickets in hand and lost.

That was the biggest choke I've seen since the Kiwis coughed up the 2013 Americas Cup losing eight straight races to the USA.

I have been to a couple of renegades games so was interested in the finals , couldn’t believe it when finch got out in the semi , thought it was all over , nearly didn’t see the last couple of overs . Watched the final , didn’t think they had enough runs , at about 0 / 80 I gave up on them thought that the stars had it in the bag , wondered off for a couple of overs , couldn’t believe it when I came back to see the end of the collapse. Renegades certainly a couple of amazing escapes/ wins

To me it felt like the BB was dragged out for a little too long - am glad to see the end of it but the last 3 games were great to watch.

Agree , should start first weekend of school holidays and finish first week of school starting, play at least one game every day more on weekends . To be honest I thought seven network did bbl no favours this year , 10 did a better job last year

Bancroft bats all day for 73no in his Shield return and Sri Lanka on the verge of something very special. Can they hold their nerve.

Duke ball a bit harder to score against in the drizzle and cold of Sydney today? 83 overs bowled for the grand sum of 183.

I reckon you might be right. QLD did ok but i'm not sure what the conditions were. The selectors would have loved the patience and grit so it's absolutely game on for opening spots.

And it was phenomenal that Sri Lanka could turn on the after burners and hunt down the 100 odd needed so quickly with no more loss of wicket in such a low scoring game. S.A. has made our results over here look a teeny bit better.

Dunno - will be interesting to see what the selectors do. I can’t see them taking four openers to England, particularly when Ussie can open if need be.

If Justin Langer gets his way, his pet Bancroft will be straight back in. However, objectively I would reckon that Warner, Burns and Harris are all in front of Bancroft at the moment. While Bancroft was the incumbent opener prior to sandpapergate, its not like he had really cemented his spot.

Burns looked good yesterday on a track that was doing a bit and against a fairly useful bowling lineup of Tremain, Siddle and Boland. In contrast, the NSW attack is not particularly threatening, but equally, you can only play against what is on the park, and Bancroft did that well. The next few games will be fascinating to see who can perform the best. It is nice that hopefully the selectors will be picking who is in the best form, rather than guessing on who is in the least worst form ...

Renshaw didn’t do himself any favours yesterday, but he actually looked like he might be finding some touch. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Renshaw score some big runs in the upcoming weeks. The guy who must be kicking himself is Marnus - his place is under real threat and throwing his innings away yesterday in that fashion is a really bad look.

The makeup of the Western Australian team is also pretty funky - not often you would have so many options to turn to in the event of your first-string wicketkeeper breaking a finger mid-match ...

Interesting times ahead for players and selectors. On top of all this we have Harris set right now, Wade scoring top order runs and young Will just starting his innings. Looks like a good afternoons cricket.

Harris falls agonizingly close to that ton. Wade knocked over earlier for 77. Patterson still going in the fitties.

Patterson's fine form continues. Unless he comes completely unstuck in the next few games, he must be looking good for at least a place in the touring party. If Bancroft can double up and bat out tomorrow, that will be a pretty strong statement for selectors (the strength of the NSW attack not withstanding) as well.

Burns has now outperformed Renshaw in both innings, and should be in a similar boat to Patterson. Harris may be the unlucky one to miss out for Warner's return if Bancroft can maintain his current output.

Marnus has to make some big runs though, as he is looking the weak link in the middle order that Smith will slot into. His supposed asset as a leg-spin option becomes less attractive when you consider that Steve Smith can do a similar job as the part-timer (and, in fact, may actually bowl a lot more now that he isn't captain). I can't see the argument for including Wade at this point - he score 70 yesterday, but he really needed 170 to make his case.
