I'm sure Courty will be able to give me a boost.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Royal Hobart GC have kindly shifted their February "Monthly Friday Night dinner" for us, so that we can eat there. Nothing fancy, but a good solid "pub style" deal with parma's, steaks, fish and chips, etc. So can we please try and support the club and eat there Friday Night.

I'll add a column to my spreadsheet for this, so please let me know your very good reason for not attending...

If you're running straight through you probably wouldn't want to leave any later than 7:30am. (Presuming we get our full 40 field, obviously if we only have say 32, then our first tee time is pushed back from 11.50am to 12.10pm, etc.) 3.5 hours is around the mark.

We'll definitely be making it as early as we can as we'll be wanting to get back to the accommodation to run the calcutta (although we may be able to run it at the club), but if we have the full 40 players our last group won't be off until 1:42, so maybe 6:15 is about as early as we could possibly imagine...

7:30 is fine. Was thinking earlier might be needed. For those interested car hire is somewhat more expensive than Melbourne, but I can get a clown car for around the 700 mark one way so might look at that. Need my leave approved first ....
