Default Electric bicycles on the course.

Saw this for for the first time at Nudgee GC being used for a comp round.
I remember a number of years ago that our old trundles with the narrow wheels had to be replaced with wider ones to spread the load and protect the course. So rider, bike frame and motor weight plus bag and clubs would make the load around 10 times that of the old banned trundle with the similar tyres. So WTF?

Ban them, due to the damage that they will do to the course.

Wynnum has allowed them (Powered Bikes) for yonks. I hate carts only marginally less than I hate bikes on course. I take great solace whenever I arrive at the memorial garden next to our 3rd Tee. Because that is where most of the lazy pricks end up sooner rather than later!

I'm referring to an electric bicycle where old mate was using pedal assist.

I assume he stuck to a cart path? If so, fair play.

Back when I first started playing golf at Gordonvale (mid nineties) there were quite a few of the old blokes that used scooters e.g. Yamaha Jog, to tow their golf buggies around. Seemed to work okay and they were no louder than a petrol powered golf cart.

One the funniest things I saw was an old bloke come off when his buggy got snagged on a small palm tree because the axles stuck out further then he realised.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

We had someone apply to our club to use a mobility scooter on the course to caddy for his daughter as his own club wouldn't let him.

We claimed insurance issues etc but basically it was simply because the device isn't meant to be on undulating ground etc. an damage to course.
Hey, let's pop some Viagras and issue tickets with raging, mega-huge boners.

I actually think golf should embrace motorised bikes , pedal assist types but properly designed , a 3 wheel set up wide tyres etc , cheaper and healthier option that a cart

Or get rid of carts. Nothing worse than a cart path straight up the middle of the hole to the fariway.

Rob's big mobility scooter would nearly make it around the course (city GC I mean), maybe I should set it up for it! I've seen footage of someone riding it around a BMX track. Don't know if it would handle the hill up the 10th at City though...... Might have to zig zag up the hill to decrease the incline. That wouldn't bother anyone would it???

Anyone who thinks it may be of benefit to them , instead of carts to give some physical benefit , carts should only be for those that are physically / medically unable to play unless they have one

My preferred method is to carry my clubs during a round of golf. However walking during golf gives me shin spints so I own a cart.

Or unless you need to carry a slab around for the first nine then restock at the turn, bloody heavy 😜

That seems to be the most popular reason for carts
