Definitely the wasp sting. This is the one on my thigh, two on my back and one on my shoulder. The swelling is almost gone now.

Ouch! Did Bob get stung too?

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

Damn! You’ve had a decent reaction to the sting. I’ve been stung by wasps many times & it’s never blown up like that!

It took over a year for two marks on my ankle to disappear from wasp bites last year.

Played the Wynnum back marker today. Once again one hole screwed me. Finished with 87/73, which included a lip out hole in one on 5 and a 9 on 17 which destroyed a good round. Maybe next time.

I also played the back marker at Wynnum. Had a 9 on a par 4 and had 40 putts for the third time in a month, including a 4 putt to finish net 95/77. I had a 20 footer for birdie on the 16th and walked off with double.

Highlight for AndyP: birdie on 17

DQ at Wynnum yesterday after we lost my tee ball on 18 and I couldn't be stuffed going back to the tee. Highlight birdie on 10 followed by bogey on 11 then par on both the par 5s before falling apart again.

32 points today at Reddy Bay, chip in birdie on 13, 19 points on the back. Poor on the front 9.

Stroke at Olinda today,I missed the first round of club champs so just making up the field.Started double bogey, triple bogey with a 3 putt and then a 4 putt on the first 2 holes.Knuckled down a bit and reset the brain and found a rhythm.Turned with 44 which was ok after a couple of near missed putts and a recovery on 27 after putting the drive into the woods, hacking Out,moving it forward and then finally sticking my wedge to 4 inches for a bogey 5.
    Second 9 was good.40 OTS which is 4 over,finished with 84-73.

Had the pleasure of being grouped with Grumpy8 and watched some superb golf from tee to green.Except the drive on the last hole, but everyone hits a topper every now and then.He managed to scramble the par to wrap up a great day of golf

Very nearly raised to bat today in very innocuous conditions. It was actually quite embarrassing.

Highlights for AndyP: The weather was nice.

played 3 days of golf with the WA crews at Manjimup.
Cant complain about the golf as I seem to hit most of my club well except for a few brain farts... a last minute buy of a Callay 21 Utility iron was helpful with the narrow fairways and keeping balls in play.
However after popping my calf while trying to run up a steep tee box made the days harder...

Saturday and Sunday seems to start off well on the front 9s, but always seems to blow up at the back 9s.

    Played 92/78 and 89/75

Highlight of my weekend was getting an Eagle from 125m downhill chip and run with a 7 iron on a par 5.

I wondered what had happened to you. Stick at it. You aren't a 9 handicap from what I remember.

As for me I had one of the strangest 34 point rounds I have ever had. A real mixture of great and terrible in all aspects of my game. I started with two sand saves in a row and finished with a non sand save knife 30 metres over the green. I had two three putts in a row, and a streak of 4 holed putts from 15 to 20 feet in five holes, with a missed 3 footer in the middle.

It was good to be back on the course though.
"There are 50 things to remember in the golf swing. Trouble is that I can only remember 49 of them" - Bob Hope.
