I thought you were about to tell us you were having yet another holiday.

Can I transfer your good wishes to my tennis? Thanks.

Yeah, you probably are right, but its my first time with my camera at the v8's, and you know what they say "practice makes perfect". But hey if you got any tips in your professional kit you are willing to share, fire away, I'm always keen to learn.

Terry, this is my best motor racing effort. Taken at the 1982 Bathurst 1000. Camera was an Olympus OM10, 75mm zoom, skylight lens filter.

I was pissed out of my head at the time. (Tooheys New) That's why this pic is out of focus.

Suuuurprise Suuuurpise Suuuurprise, no golf for me either.

Tezza, Motion shots like that are some of the hardest to take in photography. The old standard would be to expect 1 good shot per 100+ photos. Any of the pros there would have shot 10 times as many, and still not got a much better hit ratio. I remember an article about the official olympic photographer for the 1996 games. He took a pallet load of film to the games, a load the size of a pallet of beer.

The key is manual focus, and know your distances. Pick an object or person the same distance from you as where you want to snap the car, then manually focus on them. Now aim back at the track and snap away a the cars when they are about the same distance. Give it a try and see how it goes. Sorry bout the OT chatter.

Wow! Would this be the least amount of golf in a weekend for OzGolf? Is anyone actually playing?

Mike, pissed or not that car is in the wall and not moving.

Goughy, I know where you are coming from with setting DOF, but its a bit hard when the corner you are on they are coming towards you and you are Panning with the car into and out of the corner.

My main problem was I was trying to stop the car in the shot, but have the wheels blurred to give the feeling of motion, so was shooting on a low shutter speed. I upped the shutter speed today with much better results.

    Love the fire show.

Pretty happy with the results with limited experience. But I know I will get better results with "tour" glass (lenses)......one day

I haven't forgotten you Jarro, heres some pics you'll like

I have some more you might like Jarro,I will find them and post em later.

BTW, I thought i saw Jack up there on thr weekend too, I'll find the pic and post it later.
