So I bought a little portable tripod the other day so i can start to film myself actually playing golf. It's all good to film your swing when you are on the range (not that I've been to a range in 12 months plus) so I've decided that I'm going to film on course play. Not trying to start a big following or anything like that, but it's going to be so I can see how I handle putting that pressure on myself I guess. Will upload to YouTube sporadically, but thought it could be fun for others to watch as well.

Some people might think thats boring, but you might be surprised. A while back my mate worked at the Bank nightclub in Townsville. He brings along a video tape he had of hilarious sport moments, but accidentally took a boring tape of himself and mate practising. It was a smash hit and The DJ got inundated with requests for the golfers video for months afterwards.

Well I don’t take anything too seriously so it would be pretty relaxed viewing and probably a good laugh. So I’ll post a link once I’ve done a little vid!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned GolfBarons so far - they don't have a lot of content so far, but have a few club reviews, course vlogs and tips. An Aussie duo as well (if that makes any difference). Not brilliant stuff as yet, but shows some promise.

I have become a fan of Zach Allen.
Subscribed to his daily emails, just ignore the infomercial part, and a few times a week has a very short video. Just enough to not fill my head with too much confusing stuff

Two other suggestions (the second is a bit of an 'acquired' taste):

    Alex Evans Golf
    Golf VLogs & the Golfmates

As a starting point for the Golfmates channel, perhaps watch this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjabIu-kjn8. The joy that Josh gets out of playing golf should remind us all of why we do it ...

Someone has uploaded a heap of the Shell’s wonderful world of golf episodes. Some great stuff in there.

Addam ( former Ozgolfer) uploaded all those Shell videos once before but he had to take them down.

If you have time up your sleeve, Coyne's books A Course called Ireland, and, the imaginatively named sequel, A Course called Scotland, are both worth a read.

These have appeared in my YouTube recommendations, so I have started watching them, one or two a day.

Maybe there are some good ones buried in the collection, but most of the editions I have seen have been either super cheesy or downright bizarre. I simply cannot stand the commentary, with the in-round interviews.

Byron Nelson and Gene Littler at Pine Valley was interesting for a view of what is surely the most overrated golf course ever. If a designer were to serve this up today they'd be lynched for giving us an absurdly penal (and long) course with forced carries and island fairways.

Henry Cotton and Gene Sarazen were both in their sixties and about 10 over par at St Andrews.

And Greg Norman and Fred Couples were forced to play in a 50 yard breeze at Carnegie Club, probably the strongest wind I've ever seen on a golf telecast. Nowadays they'd just cancel the round. That one was actually pretty good, especially for fans of long iron play into the wind. 2 iron from 170!

The PGA Tour YT page has a remastered form of Sam Snead v Jack Nicklaus @ Pebble Beach from 1963. I enjoyed that, plus Peter Thomson v Gary Player @ Royal Melbourne and Sam Snead v Ben Hogan @ Houston CC.

Sure, it's a little schmaltzy, but it adds to the character a little and helps me appreciate an era of golf that I know next to nothing about.
