Haven't played anything but a half set for the last few weeks and have probably only had 2 shots where I was really in between clubs. Neither turned out badly though.

Unfortunately the wedges didn’t help at all.
The 60 was always short and I flew the 52 too far. After a relatively good front 9 I dished up my first 50+ in 9holes for some time.
Not all short game though, lots to be said for missing in the right spots.
54 is back in the bag for tomorrow’s final round.
You can do it Bushy, 60* wedges are the devils club and should all be burnt
If it aint for sale the right price has just not been offered
So I made a few discoveries today. Even though I played really poorly yesterday I drove the ball reasonably well but I felt my swing was off. Wedges were horrendous.
Today my swing was much better, got a bit of a feel back into it that worked well.
My only really bad hole was 12, I made a triple bogey 7 and it was hideous. Made an error because I had 9i in the hand when I probably ‘wanted’ a PW and took too much off it with a tight front pin on an elevated green. Compounded the error by flying my next one over the green, then played swords back and forth for the 7.
Given the greens at Atherton are relatively small, raised, hard and sloped you need to be definitely coming at them from the right side. I didn’t do that well at all and a lot of it was not being comfortable flighting my irons. For the first time since this thing kicked off I “missed” having a couple of extra clubs. I can think off the top of my head maybe 7-8 holes over the 2 days where I made a bad swing because I was afraid of hitting it long with the bigger club.
Maybe its something to think about when the greens are smaller at similar country tracks, it might not be a big deal at home where the greens are bigger.
Onwards and Upwards!!
I had a couple of in between clubs yesterday including one on a par 3 with the pin at the back. The green has a severe dropoff behind so long is no good and a massive tier in the middle so short is a very difficult 2 putt. Ended up choking down a little on the longer club and it was perfect.
Went out yesterday arvo with 13 clubs for 9 holes. Played ok (+2 37) but didn’t see much difference. I did make the remark that it’s my lowest irons and wedges that I think I’m missing.
Club Champs this week and next week, half set might get a rest for 2 weekends.
Chuck that putter in the drink, it's shite!

Quick Update:
The makeup of my set has changed very little however there have been some slight changes, the new Mackenzie arrived, 3hy is getting some work done and i'm experimenting with putters.
I put an old original Nike Sasquatch 3w in the bag that has been great. Has a Black Tie in it at around 5w length so I can hit it 220-ish if required BUT have been playing it down to 175 as required. I'm missing the 3hy at the moment so I go straight from 3w to 5i which is a tricky spot to fill seeing as 5i maxes out at around 155-160 for me.
I'm rotating putters on a seemingly round by round basis.
Current bag is:
D, 3W*, 5, 7, 9, 54, 58, P.
