Champs week was a bit of a test for my swing changes. I’ve been working on a stock fade to cut out the two way miss and it held up in the first two rounds at Kooralbyn and RQ. It however fell to bits at the windy punishing Pacific Harbour and I started to revert to my old swing. Need to be able to keep the ball down with less side spin.
Working soft 10m pitch shots.
Weight on the left foot, hands behind the ball, and release the club head using the bounce of the club.
Getting there ...

6 iron swing this morning. Hit about 20 balls and worked with impact bag. Trying to come down a bit shallower and rotating through impact instead of coming down steep and jump/stall/flip.

I've been trying to focus more on playing golf and on the short game lately but one thing I'm working on with my swing is to shorten the backswing and just rotate hard through impact. When I do it right, I have much more space coming down and don't have my usual dip and jump move through the shot.
Here's comparison of me getting stuck when my backswing gets a bit long and when I shorten the backswing and just rotate into the shot. So much more space and I come in much shallower. Ball flight is more penetrating and I seem to have much better club face control (ie no duck hooks and push slices)
