Ok, talk me through it, I have my opinion, what you thinking??
I’ll give you my opinion... you’re a flusher!!!
OK - couple of notes.
1. At the top clubface pointed to the sky - so very closed... wrist not bowed, so that is a big issue
2. you sway way too much off the ball on the backswing.
3. your body is too quick on the downswing which means you have to drive the legs a lot to counterbalance,
4. your right foot has way too much weight on the outside of the foot.
5. too much angle in the right side on the way down.
so
Setup looks too level to me, need some angle in the right side at setup.
the takeaway is too much along the target line instead on being on plane which pulls you off the ball.
way too inside on the backswing which closes the clubface
the only way to square it up on the down swing is to rotate like a bastard on the way down and slide into impact - which you do well.
this frame shows how STUCK you are on the downswing, The legs are so far forward, they should be pushing against the ground and allowing your right side to get out of the way

You are just too steep and too closed for any consistency. The club has to come down to the slot and then around into impact. You are just coming straight down and keeping the clubface open with a massive body slide.
My 2 cents.

Virge,Agree with: sway off the ball, too steep and stuck. Not worried about shut face. This is my old swing (well the swing I want to change) pattern.FWIW, I was aiming at a tree 185m out and hit it on the full half a dozen times with what felt like an easy swing. Nice gentle draws. BUT I know with this pattern that draw will quickly become a duck hook on the course.Gotta get the backswing right first. Losing my spine extension and moving off the ball too much.I’m seeing Richard Woodhouse next week so I’ll put some videos up afterwards.
good stuff mate.
looking forward to seeing the new bits.
Just finished having lessons with Richard Woodhouse.
Points from the lesson.
Full swing
Set up
- scaps too far forward. Scaps back a bit.
- introduce slight spine tilt to the right
Backswing
- hips sliding instead of rotating so arms are going up and getting disconnected as I run out of thoracic rotation
- feeling of right hip going back and feeling a stretch in my right glute at the top.
- arms naturally stay more connected as I’m turning more
Downswing
- this sorted itself out with the improved backswing position
- did some drills to move the hips a bit more dynamically
Overall great experience. Used Gravityfit TPro a lot for posture and backswing work. Went on k vest for some downswing stuff. Trackman and camera from 3 angles.
We also did some work on chipping and pitching. I’m a handle pusher so the emphasis was on releasing the club more and using the bounce more. Finishing with butt end of my club close to the left hip pocket instead of high and away from me.
I’d recommend Richard to anyone who wants to really work on his swing. I’m not after a pretty swing. I want to be able to stand on the tee with OB left and water right that I’ll be able to keep it out of trouble 9 out of 10 times. I want to be able to aim at the fairway instead of aiming away from trouble. I think these changes will help me achieve that but we’ll see.

If it aint for sale the right price has just not been offered
Here’s video of a swing with k vest after we worked on some dynamic drills for the lower body during the downswing.
Most of the downswing faults corrected themselves after set up posture and backswing work. Left foot is still flying around a bit but Richard didn’t seem to mind this too much. Working on left hip mobility hopefully will help.

Last video from the lesson.
This was the first day when we worked on posture and backswing.
TPro for posture and scap stability and right foot back for more hip turn.

Chalk and cheese, so much better in so many ways.
You have space to rotate on the downswing.
Excellent work, just excellent.
