Certainly shorter than I remember.
Is it because of shoulder pain that you've shortened?
I did this last night in the shed, I had been trying a more rounded swing like Matt Kuchars but my lower back rejected it instead of my shoulder, old(er) age is starting to suck
My issue with a shortened swing is that I then end up with tennis elbow and have to stop, be interesting if you experience any of that.
I am shortening/flattening the swing to get some consistency. Hooking a 9 iron 30m isn't very fun! 😩 Shorter/flatter backswing means I can just rotate through the ball without having to drop my arms down first. It's actually quite easy on the back as I end up more on my left side and avoid the reverse C position. I can hit low fades for the first time in my life. 😎 Little bit of club head speed loss but as I get more comfortable with the movement I can be more aggressive and swing a bit faster through impact.
What a nice and efficient swing!
You seem to generate good separation between the shoulders and the hips, even with the shorter backswing. You look solid at impact and look to be swinging within yourself.
Can see why you have fought the reverse-c. Your rotation of your core seems to be around a solid axis, with very little lateral movement which can result in the duck hook if you transition too fast at the top with your arms.
How have your changes impacted the touch side of the game (half swings, pitching etc) Is contact more solid now, or is the timing thrown out a little because of the shorter swing sequence?
Also has the shorter swing helped with consistency throughout the entire round? Do you generally play better during the early holes or do you find your rhythm and tempo gets better towards the later holes?
Yeah, snap hooks are always in the back of my mind and sometimes the big block fades. Two way miss is not the best thing to have especially if there are no bail out sides or adjoining fairways. They usually come out more on the back nine when I'm tired but could happen any time. Tried the Milaska move which helped but still inconsistent.I'm still in the middle of making the swing changes so I'll be able to report back on the short game after a few more rounds.

Mainly trying to keep the club head outside the hands on the way back, slightly laid off feel at the top, then go.
I tend to bring the club in, then lift the arms and cross the line at the top and then come under and flip with the hands. Always prone to snap hooks and pushes out right.

The clubface is a bit more closed and your downswing is a lot steeper than i remember. You take it back closed and flat and then immediately transition to steep on the downswing...
is this intended ? or are you working on a drill ?
