Yep. Played to 18.7. 1 or 2 quads in there that rounded down to triples.

90 off the stick in round 2 today. Course was very wet and played preferred lies. Started on 10 and knifed the ball across the green twice with a chili dip in between for an 8 to start ... Thankfully I managed to grind out the rest of the day with 6 pars and 3 doubles. Putting was not great, I think I only dropped one longish one.

Unless there is a late score change, The bloke who was coming second beat me by 4 today so we are both on 179 after 2 rounds. Next is 6 or 7 shots back. Go C Grade! I think the same guy is beating me by 4 shots in net now, but really don't care about net

    Edit - scores in:

    C Grade – Gross

    1. L Apolloni 179

    2. P Davies 179

    3. S Burns 186

    4. B Berriman 188

    5. O Kirk 189

    C Grade – Nett

    1. L Apolloni 137

    2. P Davies 141

    3. G Poloni 145

    4. R Vande Griendt 145

    5. C Brown 147

    Default WDYSTMonth - June 2018

Ahhhhhh. Up and down day but putted well considering the greens are getting really firm and fast.

A 2 putt birdie on my 3rd hole was cancelled out by 2 doubles and there were a couple of soft bogies on my front side that sucked.

After starting the back side well another double popped up but I managed to par the final 4 holes with 4 one-putts from some odd spots to grind out 35 points...lost another 0.3

Backing it up tomorrow for 36 holes in the Foursomes Championship with Courty who gets home from Europe at midnight tonight. Should be fun.

A story of what could have been
    Olinda Golf Club stableford.
Front 9 was a story,22 points,2 over the card off the stick.

Back 9,13 points 1 wipe and a story of near missed but in the end poor putting.

Finished with 35 points,84 off the stick.Could have been so much more

It was a great fight back from a potentially disastrous start PD. It was very solid golf for the next 17 holes. If your putter had been even mildly warm, it could have been a very good round.

I finished like you started! But had to be happy with 17 super solid holes. Parring all the par 3 and all the 5s, till the last hole was very satisfying. As was my U & D out of the hazard on the 7th for par. In hindsight, my stumbles all came when I tried to hit the ball harder and further in the soggy conditions. I have to be a bit more patient and let my short game do the hard lifting. That is what worked for me most of the round.

I am currently running 3rd in A Grade Nett, 5th in A Grade Seniors Gross, and 2nd in A Grade Seniors Nett. I need a couple of steady rounds now to consolidate.

First comp round in about 9 months yesterday. 78 for 38 points. A few lucky par saves but also a heap of poor putting. Stoked to break 80 for the first time in over a year!
Stock shot is now a weak short fade but I kept it in play.

    Foursomes Champs.

Rounds of 81/83 definitely not going to be good enough.

We did have 4 birdies though, just too many doubles and a triple.

Nice one! My pretend return to the game has seen my stock shot now being a pull draw. I'd love a weak short fade right now.

pull-draw was the shot that crept into my game last year and part of the reason why I took a break from golf. Around my course, all the trouble and OOB is on the left.

My course is the same - I can slice all day and stay relatively safe (managed 34 points on the weekend with at least half of the fairways missed to the right), but if I'm hooking it's impossible to score.

I got a preview of what golf will be like for me as a genuine senior today. 35 points doesn't sound like anything remarkable, but the conditions made it a really good score.

The course was a mudheap after lots of recent rain. The ball was going nowhere, so when I was smashing my drives a massive 170m I couldn't even think about reaching our long par 4's.

The walk was very hard work as well. I'm gonna need more handicap.

Golf sucks. I have gone from 5.1 to 7.3ish in 3 months, and I am nowhere near playing to it either.

30 points feels like a win at the moment, and if the putt is between 2 and 6 foot, I am a snowballs chance in hell of holing it.
