Played it a few times and only the playing partners made it memorable.
Out of the way location, for anyone having a weekend/holiday in the Southern Highlands.
It won't be missed.

I went to school with the son of the Tree Valley GC owner.
They’ve had that since god knows.
Prob made a shit load of $$$ selling out (providing they owned the land)?

According to the leaked cabinet papers mentioned in this SMH article, it looks like Balgowlah GC gone permanently and half of Cammeray GC used during construction of the Northern Beaches Tunnel.
I can't see Cammeray surviving with 4-5 holes closed for 5+ years.

North Lakes in north side of Brisbane is now closing for a retirement village
I wonder if all the units will look the same.

I never much rated the place.... and I got to play there fairly often as a work supplier was a member.
Imagine buying a house near or along one of the fairways during development only to see the course disappear a decade and a half later.
They should just revert the naming of the joint to Mango Hill and be done with it.
I played the course a few times in the early 2000s when visiting my brother whho was living in Brisbane at the time.
I didn't think it was that bad either. Certainly no worse than a lot of the courses we have on offer in FNQ.
One of my clients now lives in a property that I think overlooks the course, he'll be spewing.
Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.
