2 megalitres a night is a lot, which is 2,000 litres. You suggest 10 times that.
1 cent per litre is 1000 cents per kilolitre, ie $10 per kilolitre. Water from your utility for drinking is about $2 per kilolitre (yes, that is right, $2 a for a tonne of water delivered to your door, ready for drinking).
I expect grey water would be less than half of that, ie less than $1/kilolitre. So, you are 10 times out there as well.
I suspect your estimate is out by 100 times.

Isn’t 2 mega litres 2,000,000 litres?

I've deleted my post - my calculations aren't right.
I'll repost with a clear head.
By the way, I just want to get some perspective into how much water can cost for a course.
And, how much water an irrigated course does use.

Can you explain it in multiples of 375 or 425 millilitres?
Anything else sounds made up.

Ok, rinse and repeat. Apologies.
20,000 litres a night is 20 kilolitres.
I suspect the amount is 200 kilolitres a night. That is 200 cubic metres of water
Assuming 10 mm is being added, that irrigates 20,000 square meters.
At 50 metres wide, that is 4,000 meters of playing corridor.
Seems right.
I need to do this in a spreadsheet - it is very easy to get this wrong by a factor of 10, or a 100,or a 1000.

BlakeyThe ACT Waste water treatment facility is about 4km from Belconnen, and the club recieved treated water at a very good price for years. Now suburbia has expanded and there are thousands of houses going up on old farmland, I suspect the ACT Gov will be trying to sell or use the treated water for more profitable or community based exercises such as ovals, construction etc. Not sure of the politics behind it.There is a huge amount of treated water we are talking about, with 450000 people's sewage being treated by this plant. Going back to the drought a few years back, the treated water was something like 90% of the river flow.

On the Gold Coast here too MtB and I think same is happening at my club. Not sure if we are already paying or council wants to start charging.

The whole water supply process on the Gold Coast has been one major stuff up for years. Probably just trying to recoup the losses from the years gone by.

Yes I got the e mail and spoke to the GM Paul Netting and he was bullish about them reaching a solution. I'm not having a go, I'm just interested as a member. I thought you may have heard otherwise. Thats all

One of the Committee blokes was off his tits at Pennant earlier this year and was all doom and gloom.
Haven't heard any different for a month or two, so hopefully the issues are on their way to being resolved.

Not a closure but the Wallacia Golf Course will be reduced from 18 to 9 holes to accommodate a new cemetery.

I don't get how cutting the course in half will "significantly upgrade the golf course" and address the loss making.

Horrid result MT, unless mobilised its hard to fight against developer friendly councils or those influenced by people like Clover Moore backed up by her ship of fools. If anyone is inclined to be on Twitter, please follow @jamogolf who is conducting a one man operation to illustrate the benefits of public golf.
Another community facility falls with the fight left to locals and members whilst the silence from Golf NSW and Melbourne centric GA is deafening. Where are our governing bodies to challenge the narrative?
He's got a few from me but James Sutherland might just get another performance review tomorrow.

The local Distict associations are the ones to do battle with the local govt in such matters. This happened on the Gold Coast with Helensvale GC. The lobbying from the district was a primary factor in converting the councils objective to turn it into a park

The local district association, not sure we even have one but OK, it worked in the case you stated.
When you are up against larger forces than a council, State Govt Planning authorities, city Lord Mayors and vocal well funded activists, why wouldn't you roll out heavier ammunition rather than a few well meaning amateurs.
The narrative that is supporting closing golf courses gets rolled out Australia wide.
