38 in the Anzac Stableford today. Tough going for =10th overall and 3rd in A grade.

Played really well, struck the ball nicely and got up and down from some junk a few times.

Was sitting at 3 over thru 17 and an easy 40 points beckoned. Poor choice for my second. Ahhh Lest We Forget.

    35 yesterday Anzac Comp.

Last 3 holes were the usual killer with only 3 points and 3 putting 2 of them.

33 points yesterday, no wipes, but the killer was an appalling 3 jag on 6 - 10 footer for birdie and 4/4, hit it firm, missed the return, and carded a 2 pointer.
Surprisingly 33 points wasn't a flag - DSR was low due to the perfect conditions and tees slightly forward from plates.

Then a solid 5 hours of 2 up where I cleaned up the last three spins to make a profit for the day.

Back from 4 weeks off, Vic champs form is still deteriorating.

Started on Tuesday with 27 at Hervey Bay - started even to cap through 6 holes then just lost the plot. Wed had 28 at Maryborough, again started ok then lost the plot. 99 (nett 85) at Pacific backmarker today. Parred the first hole then really lost the plot.

Lesson plan that started 6 months ago has produced my best 2 rounds ever, but otherwise not so good. The frustrating part is there are good days at the range, but rarely the firm transfers to the course. Clearly my custard filled head not working on course at the moment.

Navy GC round at Paradise Palms today. I went out with no expectations and ended up putting a really solid round together. 75/71 for 37pts. Could have very easily been 3 or 4 better too. Could well lose another half a shot.

I forgot to report on my round from a week ago.

20/04/2018, The Spa (Helidon) Golf Course, Solo Round.

There was no one in the clubhouse when I arrived, so I just started the round assuming there would be someone there when I got back. I forgot to grab a scorecard, which made things difficult, because each green had two flags, one for each nine, and the course layout didn't match their website. When you've got no idea where a hole goes, or where the next hole is, it is pretty frustrating. It turned out that there were 10 unique holes too, so I played each one once.

I was hitting it okay, but the greens were too poor to judge putting. I had 7 over through 10 holes, but they counted one 380 par 4 as par 5. I doubled the second after finding OOB just off the left back of the green. I also had a quad on a hole where an approach to a green led to a high bounce off and into some water.

The highlight was a birdie on the par 4 8th (or 18th if you go around again). Super straight drive over a 190m downhill water carry, that had no good layup option, and a nice pitch close.

As for the course, I don't think I need to return there. There are plenty of better options.

    Score: 44 (Par 37).
    Scoring: bXBPBXPBbP

After that it was off to Toowoomba City Golf Club for an ambrose. I hit it okay, but it is hard to tell how well you are playing on this format. I was pulling my irons, which would have made scoring hard, but the driving seemed fine.

Me too. 20 on the back (started on 10) but failed to keep it going. A couple of snappy hooks did me in.

Run of shite continues with 21 (10/11) at Sanctuary Cove today. 7 wipes, nothing really memorable except a GIR and 2 putt par on the par 3 13th.

Today was one of the weirdest rounds of golf I’ve had in a long time if ever.

There was some really good mixed with really average golf. Must have lipped out or burned the edge at least half a dozen times. To be honest it didn’t feel as bad as the score would suggest.

Ended up 21 points with 8 wipes.

Pennant today v Brighton.Played ok,then mixed in some ordinary shots, scrambled for a bit, couple of up-and -downs.I think I was 1 over handicap but had a win 4&3.Knifed my 3 hybrid on the first(193m par 3)on to the front and that sort of set the scene. The final shot of the day was a knifed 9 iron into a par 3 that got pin high and 3 meters right.Opponent conceded the hole after missing right long, chipping on and watch it run into the left pot, chipped long out, down hill putt that went 10 feet past, short back up the hill, then looked at me and said pick up.A wins a win.

But,4 1/2 hours thru 16 holes was crap.Understanding it is pennant, but even still, play needs to be continuous. We were held up by the group in front as we were the final pairings.

Can't drive again with only 2 FW hit today. Lucky short games and putting was pretty spot on today to save a few pars and burdies. Played 85 gross which I'm pretty happy with for a social day.

Possibly the worst/luckiest 36 points I can remember having.

Was inconsistent off the tee, average with the irons, chipped poorly and putted ok.
