Played in the Mildura Open last weekend, 74 on Saturday got me in the seeded group for Sunday which was a first for me.

84 on Sunday was a massive let down. Found with the nerves and adrenaline I just could not get a handle on distances and hit everything way too hard.

Winner shot 68-65 so got to see some bloody good golf and I feel like I learnt a lot.

When I was in the Riverland it was Rhodes (spelling)

    Nice first round.

Still is Rhodes, 57-58 years old I think and still the man to beat. Currently playing off +1 and plays well in the bigger events, ranked as the best senior in Australia , local legend.

This is a crazy game. I actually beat the progression pattern today, with 41 points. This should mean my next round will be 31 points.

But the next round doesn't matter while I can enjoy the glow of this round. I played really well. I was one under after 11, then had 4 bogeys in a row and thought a major choke was going to be the story, but I finished with 3 easy pars.

Great weather as well, so life on the golf course is pretty good right now. I wish the NSW Champs were on next week.

😂By the way, well played Jim. Pick up any NTPs?

Stableford at Beaconhills today , 18/16 off 7 , 5 x 1 pointers and a wipe , all on none shot holes , 6x3 pointers and a 2 pointer on shot holes, had birdie putts on 1,4,6.7.8,9,10,14,16, 17 , 18 from 5 to 30 ft and didn’t get any of them . Just to top the day off ended up in an argument and almost a punch up with a foul mouthed loudmouth over his language in the club afterward. A good day out .

Played 13 hole Friday social comp at Port Kembla today. This is a very well run comp organised by the members and I actually enjoy this more than the formal 18 hole comps. Tees off at 6:40am, done by 9:20am. Shot 1 over with 2 birdies.

Ha ha, considering I find 4 of the last 5 holes the hardest to score, it probably would have been my best 13.

Nope.I stand over the putt and then my mind goes blank,my backswing wanders and I don't hit thru the ball for fear of going 10 feet past

My coach tells me that is caused by starting your stroke with your arms / hands , when you should power the stroke with your shoulders and associated muscles

Individual stableford this morning. For the first time in a very long time, there was no preferred lies and bunkers were all in play.

I was very steady around the first (back) nine, with 2 bogies for 18pts. The front was a different story... an OOB and 2 penalty drops killed it. I still managed 14pts for the side for a total of 32.

Played 36 points today with one wiped hole. 2 birdies today but offset with a few too many bogeys.

Best game I had in 2 months.
Can't say I hit bad or putt bad... just a few silly mistakes to miss a few easy pars.

Nope. I won last week, before the format was changed.

The game before that I finished third, so I'm getting better each game
