Default What did you shoot March 2018

    6 VIC Champs rounds

The National (Old) - 33pts with 39 putts
    Curlewis - 30pts
    Barwon Heads - 32pts
13th Beach (Beach) - 36pts for the daily win, and 3rd in the club comp (lost 0.4 )
    13th Beach (Creek) - 31pts
    Queenscliff - 34pts with 7 clubs

Finished with a 32.6pt average which would easily be my best to date.
I broke my Uncivil War drought with a 3/2 win over Spud.
    Top 10 every day.
    3rd in gross.
    4th in Ironman.

    Very happy with my results.

Absolute rubbish today for 28 points.

I've been hitting it fairly well and struggling to get the ball into the hole. Today it was poor ball striking and struggling to get it into the hole. Saved a lot of bogies to prevent it being worse. A real back to the drawing board round.

This morning was the first round at Cairns in several months that wasn't preferred lies, although the bunkers were still GUR. It's amazing how quickly it can dry out with some sun & breeze.

The comp was PAR off the whites (Par 71). I shot +5 (7 x plusses & 2 x minuses). 4 of the plusses were birdies (KAKAAAAA!!) and one of the minuses was a triple. Shot 1 over gross and will probably lose another shot ).

I started steady but fell into a heap. All square through the first 7 and from there it was a mish-mash of good and bad. Finished -7.

Snapped the 3i after hitting a tree root which was a definite low light.

Lucky I was playing with a club builder, it might be back sooner than expected.

Olinda Golf club today , was first round of foursomes champs ( didn’t know ) picked up another orphan at the club , combined cap of 13.5 , won the day , lead the nett by half a shot , 71.5 nett ( par 71) had a 5 on the sixth hole and then didn’t put another 5 on the card . We did however put 6 7 and 8 on the card .My partner is around 80 yr old and played better than I did , wa fun putting within 90 mts of the hole where he usually gets two shots on and 65 mts of another par 4 .

Finally a half decent round to write up about.

Played my first game at Cabra in ages, or at least after Vic Champs.

Started off a bit slow going 4 over in the first 3 holes including doubling the first and then a 3 putt on 3. A good up and down on 4 got my round going and I made an easy par on the par 3 5th.

Hit a terrible tee shot on 6. It took a good bounce and landed on in the rough on 4th. I was able to hit a big cut around the tress leaving me 105m to the pin. I played a easy knockdown with PW and hit it sweet but a little long, but got lucky (luck that I have been missing for a fee games) when back down the hill to about 3 feet for birdie.

Played solid golf the rest of the way, except for having a Hitler in the bunker on 13 after copping shit lie, and bad tee shots on 16 and 18 which all lead to bogeys.

The greens were so slow it was hard to get the ball to the hole, but I did hole out well after leaving bunch of putts short.

    35 points
    1 x birdie
    1x 3 putts
    32 putts
    1 x double
    10 x GIR

If I was a teacher, I'd give Binh detention for copying Jim's homework.

MrBluu would never copy anything I do.

I haven't had a birdie for at least six rounds, so he certainly didn't copy me there.

30 points on a windy bugger of a day. Won a ball which went down to 29.

Only 2 of the 4 par 3 greens were hit by anyone in the field!

38 points today as a last minute call up in torrential rain. Made the best 4 I’ve probably ever made on the last (9th) with 6” of water across the fairway and sheets of water running across the green.

Bunted a driver 180 down the middle because we couldn’t even see the ball in the air it was that heavy. Found a dry spot and hit a 3 wood to the centre of the green. Then pulled gap wedge from 30 ft and skimmed it almost into the hole, easy tap in for a 4.

    12/18 Fairways
    8/18 Greens
    30 putts- no 3 putts
    2 birdies
