    Default Afl 2018

    AFLW is 2 rounds in.
    AFLX starts tomorrow night.
    JLT starts next week.

But does anyone really care until Round 1?

I'll probably go along to the pre-season game when Carlton play at Princes Park. More just to get a look at some of the younger kids playing and also to experience that old suburban oval atmosphere that we sadly don't get to experience anymore.

I'll probably tune into this AFLX briefly tomorrow night and over the weekend. It's a gimmick but I can understand why they're doing it, I still cant see it having any kind of long term success though.

Just watching the AFLW you can see that the last disposal when going out of bounds rule is absolutely ridiculous.

AFLW - I don't really care, but watch it, if I happen to see it on while I am already parked in front of the TV. A teacher at my sons' school plays for the Lions.
AFLX - I won't go out of my way to see it.
    JLT - Pointless.

Round 1 - Bring it on!

My son is meant to start footy training next week. Bugger that! It is still cricket season.

I’m keen to watch the AFLX just to see what it’s about. Realistically I enjoy a little bit of JLT but round 1 is where it’s at.

AFLW is no more AFL, than the VFL, SANFL, WAFL, etc. Please start another topic for any discussion on that.

AFLW is the standard of 3rd or 4th grade amateurs.

It will only get better in time, but its still going to be average.

It'll get better with 190cm 90kg gender reassignments.

Can somebody remind me who won the flag last year?

I watched a half of AFLW the other day. Enjoyed it, mainly because Collingwood were getting pumped. Interesting contrast with AFL - the game is much slower. They are quite skillful and pretty well coached, but very few of them can pick a footy up below their knees. I'd happily go to a game though, it's not that bad.

I'm all in for AFLX and JLT, but only because I'm in a tragic grudge-filled Ultimate footy comp at work and I need to swot up for the draft.
Still not playing enough GolfLink | Slightly less terrible stats brought to you by Golfshot - F: 57%, GIR: 23%, UD: 14%, P: 34. Wow, improvement! | Nickent brand ho or tightarse? You be the judge!

AFLX has me interested for about 20 minutes but I can watch no more.

The concept isn't bad but outside of social competitions I can't see this really being a thing.
