I remember Wendy's being good (in the US, Wendy's makes burgers, not ice cream) and Shoni's had all-you-can-eat fried brekky's: bacon as far as the eye could see!

Wendy's is great for fast food......$0.99 value menu can't be beat on the way home from the bar as a student.....And the Spicy Chicken is great if you are splurging

    I miss Wendy's :P
Fat, drunk, and five-over-par is no way to go through life, son.

Jack in the Box is pretty "low end"... If you want a lot of food for little money, they're the place to go. You could option up their burgers with anything you wanted for not much cost. A friend of mine would go there everyday for a breakfast sandwich he called "Farm on a Bun". Basically a monster sausage, bacon and egg burger with the lot.

Wendys is maybe a notch above JITB, but not much. Wendy's burgers are pretty bland. Maccas is actually better than Wendys! (The septics call Maccas, Mickey-Dees)

Shoneys is pretty reasonable, more of a family restaurant. There are heaps of mid-range dine-in places where you can get cheap food.

Our favourite for takeaway was Chick-fil-a where you could actually buy a salad!!! Of the dine in places, probably Tony Romas (ribs!) and Applebees were the better ones. Applebees house sirloin was always good value at about $12. There was a franchised micro-brewery called "Hops" that was good too, much like Brewhouse, with great steaks.

Fortunately/unfortunately i lived in North Carolina so the local food was pretty awful. For laughs, we'd go to all these little diners with our workmates to check out the food. A favourite was Bubbas BBQ. BBQ is shredded pork, hickory-smoked and broiled with all kinds of sauces and god-knows-what... Probably best not to know what was in it. You could get a massive plate of the stuff, along with hush puppies (deep fried dough) and all the iced tee you could drink for under $10...

So many choices, no wonder I put on 15kgs living over there...
