    Default 2018 lpga

The ladies are at Kooyonga this week and they have just announced that Adelaide will be keeping it for another 3 years.

    Glenelg maybe or Grange East?

Looking forward to watching this, and seeing Chilled in the gallery, shaking his head and saying 'that's not the way to play this hole'.

Do we know which tees they are playing from?

I was thinking if they play from the standard whites or even more forward than that, they might score very low. The par 5's would be reachable, and the early par 4's a piece of cake for players of this standard.

    jim,

Last year at RA they played from a mix of tees, length probably just averaged less than the member's white course.

    Waz,
2years ago they used West at Grange, hopefully if they go back they'll stay on West, much easier to get crowds around than East

would love to see them use a composite course from Grange, some of those back 9 holes on East were fantastic, better then anything else on the complex in my opinion

Royal Canberra played at 5800m last week, this week is a smidge over 6000.

I thought Royal could have had 2 or 3 tees pushed back to bring drive bunkers into play which were easily carried by the whole field.

You just want to see Grange East so you can see a hole and say "I birdied that, what's wrong with them".

Played West last Monday for a Charity Day and some of the greens were shit. 2nd hole in particular there were patches bare and most of the holes had the "I'm too good and pay too much to repair my own pitch marks" thingy.

Glenelg wont get the games because their practice fairway is too short and cant accommodate the volume of player warming up.
The course is good enough but until they have a tour adequate warm up area they wont get a gig. I'm not sure Glenelg have the land space to make the required changes either.

They should be playing off the Mens Blue blocks IMHO not shortened version of the Mens White Blocks. They hit it long enough and have the rest of the game that it should not be an issue.

They are no tees that align with what you would normally associate club golf white, blue and black tees.

I was there all yesterday and about to head down soon, it's just a mix of tee positions, some forward some back.

I followed Charlie Hull (cutie with a brute of a swing)/Jennie Shin, Lydia Ko and Cheyenne Woods. Ko drew very large crowds.

Interesting, not much banter amongst any of them, they are all incredibly focused.

It's a wonderful event and incredible to see my home track featured. Very proud of how everything has been prepared and is going so far.

Oh and the crowds are amazing.

Was Cheyanne wilder off the tee than the others? She was at RC last week

I really enjoyed watching Kooyonga on TV today. I intended to watch for an hour or so, then go for a bicycle ride, but instead I stayed on the couch all day.

I didn't see Chilled, but I'll look for him tomorrow.

While it isn't a spectacular track on TV, it provided the players with a good test, which a few passed and a few other players failed. Originally I was disappointed with some of the tee placements and distances. Most of the par 4's were of similar length. But the holes were so different that I doubt many would have noticed. With uphills and downhills and upwind and downwind, and most of the green complexes very different from each other, it worked out quite well.

The TV didn't really show how severe the slopes are on 12 and 15, though.

I even didn't mind the commentary for the most part, particularly when Quentin Hull was taking a break.

I'll be watching again tomorrow, but I think the leader is a certainty to win. She has a typically Korean great swing and tempo that should hold up under pressure. I would like to see Hannah Green hang on for 2nd though.
