    Default Tim’s swing - 2018 edition

After a few years of not much golf, I’m looking to get back into it with a bit more regularity and consistency.
I’ve played there or thereabouts over the last five years so I’m not totally back at square one.
I’ve started out with a coach who is on-board with a lesson everyone one to two months.

Current swing with a few tweaks in place:

Working on a few basics - alignment, standing slightly closer with the hands a bit lower, getting the elbow in against the hip to avoid the over the top pull slap which was causing my low and left pains, and working on extending out in the follow-through.

I’ve set some goals for the year, we will see how far I can get towards achieving them.

    Cobra Tour Trusty 52*/56*

Stick with the coach dude... that’s the answer. See out 2018 committing to them and practice and regular comp games...

My coach will. We took a few vids.

Goals are to get close to 10 (currently 14.. I would say single figures but I doubt I’ll get enough comp games in.

    Part of the how is:
Better gapping through the set, especially at the top end.
Working on more greens from that 150m-ish distance.
    Getting more regular practice in.

But more importantly, just enjoying playing a bit more.

Nah mate, not atm. Wasting a bit too much time on there and it’s probably not all that necessary.

I'll try and get some vids up after my next range session or lesson, whichever comes first, but I guess some updates.
I've half found a long game, which had been the biggest issue over my last few years of irregular golf. I'm not really 'fearful' of what's going to come out when I'm standing on a tee box now. There's still a bit of pushing, but this can be worked on in time.
What it's really shown up though is that my 100m in game is atrocious which will become the focus for the next block of lessons.
The other thing that I've realised is that my golf brain just isn't there - working out what is the right shot to hit and when.

All things that will come, but there's been some good things happen already as well.

That's great Tim. I'm probably in the same shoes as you. I've sort of found my long game as well and I t is good to stand on the tee knowing that you have a reasonable chance of keeping it in play ... How often are you having lessons? I'm about to commit to fortnightly lessons. I'm going to see how I go with our club teaching pro but if that doesn't work out, I'll look at finding someone in Sydney.

I’m about every 2 months. Life is still pretty crazy - the twins are two, and our daughter who is 5 is starting netball on Saturday mornings. With the wife still working part time she works a full day on a weekend so golf is still just a ‘time to time’ proposition.

I’m trying to at least pick a club up every few days even if it’s hitting birdie balls in the backyard. Looking to play a round every three weeks and get a range session in on the others.
