It is funny how time and circumstances change your perceptions.
Even though I admired Danny Willett's talent, I didn't enjoy the way he carried on and whinged every time something went wrong on and off the course.
However, after a couple of slump years, I was cheering hard for him to win last night. He did it in the same style as his Masters win, too, with some brilliant iron shots and good putting.
I wouldn't think he is worth his own thread, but it appears he is back. There are a few guys who have had their careers go completely downhill after winning a major, and Danny was in danger of being on that list. Assuming his back holds up, he should be a regular contender again.
"There are 50 things to remember in the golf swing. Trouble is that I can only remember 49 of them" - Bob Hope.
As Nemo mentioned elsewhere, his swing looks as good as its ever looked and his iron play last night was superb.
Perceptions are a funny thing, there are a lot of people who rated him the worst player to ever win a major but I think he’s far from that. I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time with him in the past and even though he’s acted like a twat occasionally in the last couple of years he acted with class after the win.
Very punchable head.
