Three rounds into his first event since October and Rory is only one behind the leaders and has registered just one bogey in 54 holes. Hope he wins, and has a cracking year with some major wins. He’s still my favourite player on tour.

Been a great tournament so far. All the way to T9 the top players shot -5 or better yesterday, and some real talent stacked at the top. I think Matt Fitzpatrick could be the dark horse here, he has been playing great this week.
Been good to see Rory tidy up his wedge and putting game, but I'd like to see a few more rounds of it before I get too excite.
I'd like to see Fleetwood defend. He's such a pure striker of the ball. Love watching him play.
Looks like a two horse race now yeah?
Tommy!!!
You Beauty !!!! BOOM
Once you go yellow, you will never go back
Yes Tommy! What a back 9! Damn he is a flusher!
Fleetwood was putting on rails on that back nine. Truly amazing.
Its probably me, but give me a Euro Tour event over a same same PGA tour event every day.
The courses are generally more interesting. The PGA West track just did nothing for me...

Perhaps as the Euro coverage focusses more on the actual golf. The Swiss Alps course might be an average track, but it looks fun. The Scottish and English links events are magic. The Italian Open at the Monza circuit is narrow and tight and tough.
They all have different personalities, where US just seems to be narrow fairways all day, and the same course on repeat 3 weeks at a time - Desert swing, Florida swing, West Coast swing etc.
I can't stand the pro-ams, where its celebrity interviews on the 17th at Pebble 1st, a lifestyle show second, and the golf a distant 3rd. Show me more of Spyglass Hill or Pebble.

If you listen to Geoff Ogilvy speak about it he’s fairly critical of the PGA tour courses they play.
Monotonous and boring golf.
Rory with the 36-hole lead. This is shaping up as a great start to the season if he keeps this up. I’d absolutely love to see him complete the career grand slam at Augusta in April.

I’m not saying he will or he won’t but the two statements there are a bit extreme.
Especially the part about reading greens. He reads them good enough to lead by 4 through 54 but not 72??
It's been the case for him lately in any tournament. He doesn't putt well for a full 72 holes and he misses putts by A LOT at times. Another guy that sticks in my mind that's the same is Stenson. They can both go on birdie blitzes but can miss by miles at times. I was giving Rory's stroke the benefit of the doubt but maybe he can read it fine and his stroke just turns to shit.
