Default 2018: How many different courses have you played this year?

Time to revive the thread for 2018.

Got busy in my first 2.5wks home before heading back to work. Nothing too exciting yet (big year planned), but knocking off a few of the locals early:

    1. Maleny GC*
    2. Maryborough GC
    3. Noosa Springs
    4. Gailes GC*
    5. Hervey Bay GC
    6. Bundaberg GC
    7. Coral Cove

    * indicates a first time play.

How was Maleny GC? It is a course that I have been thinking about visiting to have a look. Have they started work on a second nine?

It was decent. A few hole have fwy running across sides of hills 1&2. But the rest were ok. Kikuyu rough is brutal. Greens are interesting.

3 more holes open next month.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

The 2 courses are metro courses, but never played it before, so was pretty excited about them... pity my golf did not do any justice to them

The big challenge would be to get to 40 courses that only start with the letters B or Y.

So far, my list qualifies. I've only played one course, but it does start with B.

As of Tuesday it will be:
    1. City Golf Club (Toowoomba)

Work was giving away 3 tickets to play in the PGA Pro-Am and I scored one of them. Given the last time I had a club in hand was at last year's Leon Treadwell day, say a prayer for the pro I am playing with.

That was fun. Our team was paired up with Lincoln Tighe. He hits a massive ball.
