    Default Oz amateurs

Our coarse at Wanneroo is closed next week for the preliminary games of the Australian Amateur contest. They have practise rounds on Sunday and Monday, then qualifying rounds on Tuesday and Wednesday, then they go to Lake Karrinyup for the finals. Also we followed Australian cricket bowler Geof Thompson and his party yesterday, they all seemed to enjoy the coarse.

odm, I caddied for a guy at the oz am. I was really pleasantly surprised at the standard of waneroo - I havent been there for 10 years or so I reckon. The surfaces were pure and the fairways presented good lies. The only downer was the smell of the tip !!!

I will defintely go up and play sometime. For a righty, I seemed like a faders course - but it was great. Good job done by everyone there !

The ham and salad roll I had at the bar on Tuesday was the best I've ever had too - beer prices were a bit steep though !

    It’s a great track.

I’d love to play it more, but it’s too much of a hike.
