    Default Hello from Indonesia

    Hello from Indonesia everyone,

I'm an Indo-Chinese who lives in the mountainous city of Bandung. Member of a golf club where I play once a week.

Currently playing a TM M2, Titty 915F, 816 and 915 hybrids. Yamaha shovels are currently in the bag, although I'm looking for excuses to replace them with the TM 790s. SM6 wedges and a Scotty putter.

I'm a fairly steady player, short hitter who keeps it in the fairway. Scores anywhere between 78-85. Would love to break 80 everytime I tee it up.

Looking forward to be a contributing member of this forum.

    Regards,

    Shortie80

    Thanks Lagerlover

English is my second language, so pardon me if my posts are littered with grammatical and spelling mistakes.

Welcome. What is your home course? I played Mountain View and Dago Indah a few years back. Looks like Dago has had much work done since then.

Thanks for the encouragement kiwitown. Yamada UD+2 irons, with the Zelos 7 shafts. Used to game the 712 AP2 prior to the Yamaha and I'm now 2 clubs longer. Interestingly enough the trajectory remains the same despite Yamaha's stronger lofts.

I play Lotus Lakes in Karawang, which is 1-hour drive away from Bandung. It's so much cheaper and the weather is better there. Bandung rains a lot during the monsoon seasons. Dago Indah went thru an extensive renovation a few years back, but it has since become expensive.

Thanks Courty. Nope, never played golf in Australia. Would love to do so one day. Indonesia is way too hot for golf sometimes.

    Welcome.

Golf is, in part, a game; but only in part. It is also in part a religion, a fever, a vice, a mirage, a frenzy, a fear, an abscess, a joy, a thrill, a pest, a disease, an uplift, a brooding, a melancholy, a dream of yesterday and a hope for tomorrow. - New York Tribune, 1916.

I hear that. I played Le Meridien Nirwana some years ago in summer in oppressive conditions. I’m not too keen on repeating that exercise!

Heat and humidity - lethal combination! Nirwana is a nice course, I'm sure you enjoyed the view on that par 3 right next to the temple and ocean.
