Unlike Lefty Hoges, he loves links courses.
And the harder the wind blows, the better.

Once shot 63 or 64 round Warnambool and came 5th or 6th in a stableford comp. Not bad going.

Aaron Wise was a putting machine today too. Will make for good viewing if he & Leish keep at it.

Would love to see this course played in the middle of their summer with some good winds blowing.

This happened on the 1st green today, very early in the telecast, so unless you recorded it like I did, you may not have seen this.

I've never chipped from on a green, partly for fear of taking the divot Rahm takes here.

Had to laugh at the haters. Put pins in stupid positions and players will do what they have to score.

PS; We have an ex local tour pro member that leaves the occasional green divot, but he always uses a putter and they are usually right next to the hole!

Have to laugh at the media. So apparently Adam Scott has qualified for the US Open.
I decided to have a look at all of the other qualifying tourneys to see if any other Aussies cut the mustard.
    Quite a few did.

    1. Aaron Baddeley ( same tourney as Scotty)
    2. Lucas Herbert ( Portland Golf Club)
    3. Jason Scrivner ( Walton Heath)
    4. Matt Jones (Ridgeway CC/ Colonial CC)
    5. David Bransdon (Japan)

    David Lutterus is Alternate No.2.

Wth?? I don’t get it. Every story I read mentioned all Aussies that qualified. Are you getting your news from the ABC?

I was just commenting on waz’s post Sam, but the one story I did read on Facebook only mentioned Scotty.

Yeah fair enough. Disappointed Curtis Luck didn’t get in. Pretty stoked for Jason Scrivener though.

    I agree.
From the result sheets I saw there are some pretty big names have missed out.

The 'story' is that Adam Scott has played in 60 odd majors in a row, and because of his plummeting world ranking had to qualify to keep the streak going. So the casual golf fan would be interested to know if he made it or not. Frankly, the rest of that list is only of interest to the nerd golf fans like us. If any of those guys make the cut it is an achievement. None are any chance of winning (place your wagers now).

Of more note to me was the victory of Bryson, and his new world ranking. It gets him into the automatic qualifier spot for the Ryder Cup. Whether he stays there remains to be seen, but I wonder whether he is suited to Ryder Cup play. Is he a 'team player'? He doesn't seem so to me. Maybe he would be a fit for a pairing with Bubba. I can't see him as a pairing with Phil, or with Matt Kuchar.

    1. Reads news story from Facebook
    2. Blames 'media' and 'journalists'.

Bryson has shown his talent and his approach to golf can win on tour. He’s won multiple times now and his FedEx ranking this year (4th) proves he’s in great form.

In 16 events he’s got a win and 6 top 10’s for $4.1M earned this year and it’s only barely June.

The only 3 players ahead of him in the FedEx are:

    Thomas
    Rose
    Day

Quite the company to be in when you think about it.

I think he has plenty left in the tank for 2018. Don’t forget he torched the field in the US Amateur winning the final 7&6 as well as winning the NCAA individual championship. Only the 5th player to do so, Mickelson, Nicklaus, Woods and Ryan Moore the other 4.

I just need to find some single lengths to go with my flat cap
