    Boy, those greens look "crusty"!

The Honda is not one of my favourite events. It often throws up a fluke winner (Padraig!), and the course is utterly unplayable for the regular golfer. There were no bail out areas on some of the water carry holes. I'm guessing the second course on the property caters for the old guy residents who can't deal with 150m water carries.

The greens were awful this year. I heard someone say the grass was very thin due to weather earlier in the season, so sand had been rolled into the greens to keep them firm and true.

But, none of that matter if the best player in the field wins and the tourney provides an exciting finish. I'd suggest only Dustin Johnson could make a case for being a better player than Justin Thomas right now.

Perhaps the more significant result of the performance of the Euro's. US experts tend to discount the records of Euro players in the top 20, but Fleetwood and Noren removed that doubt. They are legit contenders. I'd imagine the US Ryder Cup guys aren't quite so cocky this week.

As for Eldrick, he has his own thread, but he was good.

where is the best place to stream the PGA games? love to watch it but dont have FOXTEL.

Watching a few highlights on youtube and seems pretty annoying to keep hearing people yelling "IN THE HOLE!" all the time ...

Watch the European Tour and you will hardly hear that at all.

Can't watch the Honda. The course is so boring. Watched the last couple of holes on Monday morning in the hope Fleetwood, List or anyone else would win but it didn't happen.

Agree although 15-18 is pretty interesting viewing on Sunday. It was a shame they didn’t put the Sunday pin in its traditional place on 18 though as that would have given the last few groups something to think about and potentially given us a different winner. Would JT hit 5wood if the pin was over on the peninsula? Would’ve been good to see all the leaders try.

31 career victories with 3 majors and a two wins at the event makes for a fluke winner?

Some pretty big names have won this recently.

To be fair his last major win was 10 years ago now and he wasn't exactly the favourite the last time he won the Honda.

What the **** is a fluke winner. Did Padraig somehow not shoot the winning score in 2015?

I hate how Trevor Immelman fluked the Masters. Shit tourney.

I thought the name of the game was the fewest strokes wins too?

Then you missed perhaps the best tournament of the season so far.

It was the wrong Cinderella Story (I guarantee a commentator will say Shankar some day) but still a really good one, on a course I really like as a tourney venue.

Archie purists hate tree lined courses, and I understand the reasons, but we don't see miracle recovery shots from the trees most weeks, so I enjoyed that aspect.

Only the hard-core Phil haters would begrudge him another win in a big tournament. He is still competitive and working hard at an age where most are winding down, and he gets in contention so often it was about time he won again. I would imagine this win would give him enough points to almost guarantee him a Ryder Cup place on merit.

Lots of other good stories apart from Sharma, too, including Adam Bland getting a top 20.

I liked the course as it’s different to the cookie cutter tracks they play on week after week.
